RESOLUTION NO. 19-418

A RESOLUTION RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING HON. JOSEPH A. EVANGELISTA, CITY MAYOR, TO

PROVIDE THE BARANGAY PEACEKEEPING ACTION TEAM (BPAT) AND OTHER FORCE
MULTIPLIERS WITH BASIC DEFENSE EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS AUTHORIZED BY LAW.

WHEREAS, the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) are the primary operators in the conduct of
Community-Oriented Policing and Public Safety System together with the PNP, Barangay
Chairman, Ex-Officio, Barangay Tanod, sectoral representatives and police auxiliaries,
thereof perform the following functions, to wit:

● Organize and mobilize various sectors of the community in support of the

maintenance of peace and order and safety;
● Conduct crisis management, disaster mitigation, search, rescue, and relief operations
within the community;
● Strengthen and support the Barangay Justice System (Lupong Tagapamayapa);
● Conduct crime prevention and deterrence measures to protect the vulnerable sectors
of the community;
WHEREAS, in order for the members of the BPAT and other force multipliers to perform their duties
accordingly and assertively, it is deemed necessary that they are equipped with basic tools
authorized by law such as:
1. Policeman’s Baton otherwise known as batuta
2. Tactical Flashlight
3. Handcuff
4. Pepper Spray
5. Taser
WHEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it resolved, as it is hereby RESOLVED, to respectfully request
as it is hereby requested, Hon. Joseph A. Evangelista, City Mayor, to provide the Barangay
Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) and other force multipliers with basic defence
equipment and tools authorized by law.
RESOLVED FINALLY, that copy of this resolution be furnished to Hon. Joseph A. Evangelista, City Mayor,
for his information and favourable consideration.

This Resolution shall take effect immediately.

Session Hall, City Hall Building, Kidapawan City during the Twentieth Regular Session on November 21, 2019.
