BIOLOGY 50
Course Title: GENERAL MICROBIOLOGY
Course Description:
A survey of microorganisms with emphasis on the biology on bacteria and an introduction to applied microbiology.
Credit units: 4 units (2 unit lecture; 2 unit laboratory)
Prerequisite: Bio 11
Time Duration: 3 hours a week lecture; 6 hours a week laboratory

1. The midterm grade is computed as: 50% lecture grade + 50% laboratory grade
Midterm Lec Grade= 50% major exam + 40% quizzes + 10% assignments and reports 1. Quizzes (written/practical)
Midterm Lab Grade= 50% major exam + 15% lab reports + 35% quizzes etc.
2. Term Exams
2. The tentative final grade is computed as: 50 % lec grade + 50% lab grade
3. Assignments
Tentative Final Lec Grade= 50% major exam + 40% quizzes + 10% assignments and reports 4. Oral Recitations
Tentative Final lab Grade= 50% major exam + 15% lab reports + 35% quizzes etc. 5. Oral/Written reports
