CORRECTED DRAFT 1

In the text “Extreme perception and animal intelligence” the authors Temple Gardin y
Catherine Jhonson talks about how the advanced perceptual abilities let some animals helps
or amazing people, like dogs or horses, animals that shows high intelligence because they
are able to recognize a sign and then choose to do something about that.

First, the text talks about Seizure alert dogs and Seizure responde dogs, the first one can
predict a seizure before starts and the others can help a person once a seizure has begun.
No one knows how the learned to do this. All the trainer can is only reward the dogs so they
continue doing this.

Then the text talk about Clever Hans, a horse that seems to solve math questions, but a
psychologist explain that Clever wasn´t really counting. He was observing accions that the
humans had no idea they were giving off. He´d start tapping his foot, and stop tapping when
he could see it was time to stop tapping. Because his questioners were making tiny
movements only Hals could see. Then, psychologists use these example to show that
animals are intelligent, because no one has ever been able to train a horse to do what
clever hans did, or train dogs to act when a seiure begun.

In conclusion, animals are intelligent, and have different abilities than humans, these
abilities let them help or do other action to imprese and help people.

CORRECTED DRAFT 2

I’m buying the plane tickets to travel on my vacations, I can already smell the freshness of
the sea and feel the sand. At the same time, I’m thinking about all the times that I traveled
to new places and how my life is n rollercoaster with high and low times. Sometimes mi life
can be really enjoyable, but also can be boring too. However, now I’m in a good time and
I’m chossing a destination to visit, choose a destination to visit in 2175 is a challenge
because every day robots build new places to visit.

My life in 2175 is cool, I can choose where I want to live, could be in different places or
planets. I’m planning to live in Saturn in the next five years. Tecnology is super advanced
and there is a cure for every health problem, that’s why people live more. Now it very
common to have 4 o more careers, I have five, im a doctor, engineer, lawyer, chef and
astronaut too. Having different careers is great because you can work in different places,
save money and travel around the world, visiting friends and family. I have a big family, 5
sisters and 8 brothers, and they liv in different places with their families.

Well, not everything is great, live in 2175 is stressfull too. There are a lot of people, so the
city is crowded. Also contamination, we cant see plants in the city. Las week a robot stole
my cellphone, so security is a big problem too.

In conclusion, live in 2175 is good and bad in different ways. I hope that in the future my
life and society will be better.

Willow is no ordinary dog, Willow is capable of comprehending the cards she

is shown by her owner, Lyssa Howells. It's actually quite simple, if the card says
''wave'' Willow will, wave. That’s why he surprise a lot of people.
This whole thing supposedly started out as a bet, a friend of Lyssa Howells
offered her a trip to Mexico if she could teach Willow to read. After six weeks
of training Willow, Lyssa proved that the dog could follow commands without
the presence of any voice or signals. That’s why everybody thought that this
dog have an superior intellect.
Peter Borchelt, an animal behaviourist said "This is not reading. This dog is
discriminating between the shapes of letters." However, there is a difference
between letters and being able to comprehend the meaning.
In conclusion, Willow is an intelligent dog who can act correctly when someone
show a card, even if willow only is discriminating the shape of the letter, is an
intelligent dog because a normal dog couldn’t do that.
