Philippine “Ninja Cops” unmasked: Their role in Drug Trade

One of the problem that our country, Philippines is facing right now is
the increase of rate in the illegal drug trade and as of now, it was really
a challenge for the government to decrease the number of drug trading
it is because one of the doer or the perpetrator that commit such crime
are some of the pnp personnel. We can say that some of the pnp
personnel was tempted to do such things because of the lack of
supervisory or lack of checkups by the organization that was
responsible for it and the do such things like reselling confiscated drugs
to their own network and we call the personnel who done such thing
the “Ninja Cops”. To be clear, Ninja Cops is the Philippine street term
used to refer uniformed personnel involved in illicit drug trade, by
allegedly under-reporting drugs seized from anti-drug busts, and selling
the rest through their own network of dealers and divvying up the
proceeds. As for today’s government or law enforcement agencies
challenge they must conduct strict checkups in every drug bust activity
that must done and check regularly the status of every personnel and
conduct also drug test to deter those personnel who cannot be trusted
and to avoid these kind of problem in the agency but it seems the
National Bureau of investigation (NBI) is the only agency that has not
been tainted in the war on drugs because the Philippine National Police
(PNP) and Philippine Drug enforcement Agency (PDEA) are under
suspicion for their men’s involvement in the illegal drug traffic and this
create the people to not to trust anymore in the agencies because they

must be the role model of the community but they’re the one doing
such illegal activities and it creates gap to the people and in the law
enforcement agencies. So this is the reason why every personnel in the
agencies must be under surveillance in every action they do and
investigate it every after operation if they’re doing their job morally.
And today, it is good that the government are doing their action for
that issue and they identified 13 ninja cops but here comes another
issue that was arise, that another one of the pnp personnel was
allegedly implicated to the ninja cops controversy and as a result of that
personnel intervention, the 13 ninja cops, who were recommended for
dismissal by Aquino as Central Luzon police director, were just assigned
to Mindanao and it really got me curious why the PNP only throws all
its garbage to Mindanao?. Why did that personnel intervene in behalf
of his former men who recycled seized drugs? That’s a question that
really bring me to this curiosity. Drug war will really continue in the
Philippine and there will be a gathering cloud of distrust over the actual
role of the Philippine National Police and other drug-enforcement
agencies. So the ethical authorities must really investigate this kind of
issue, the rampant practice of keeping portions of seized drugs to plant
evidence against suspects among law enforcement agencies eliminate,
to end this kind of problem that the Philippine is facing right now. This
issue, the illegal trading of drugs, the reselling of the confiscated drugs
of some might not end if the the law implementators will continue their
illegal business and not having actions to eliminate such doings because
the peacefulness and betterment of the country is in the hands of the
authorities and they must be the good example or the role model of
the community for the people to also good things and not to violate
such laws.
