TBS Group
TBS Group Is an international healthcare technical services provider with over 2,000
clinical engineering specialists in 1,000 healthcare facilities and performing 1.5 million
maintenance tasks each year on almost 1 million medical devices.
Our origins
TBS was started in the late 1980’s by a group of engineers
that had the skills to undertake the clinical maintenance
of many different manufactures medical devices.
Through innovative ideas and market driven economic
savings it started to grow rapidly. That progress continues
today alongside the technological evolution and the
development of clinical engineering, which could no
longer be defined as just “biomedical engineering”, but as

TBS Group’s core business model is based on multi-
vendor skilled technical teams being locate in hospital
premises, performing all preventative maintenance and
repair of biomedical equipment, independent of the
manufacturer and of the technology. The operations
can be supported by off-site laboratories and workshops
where specialist skills / environmental conditions or
technology require dedicated repair, test and calibration
equipment.
Whilst the Group’s activities have expanded to its current
position to being Europe’s market leader, with the ability
to bespoke the services offered to the individual client
requirements which remain core to the growth and
success of the business. From its foundation into the
independent healthcare market to the current day the

Group has invested, developed and expanded, both

Research & Development

R&D activities are focused on the development of solutions
and tools aimed at providing innovative healthcare and
technical activities and management, in a wide range of
different, multidisciplinary operations and contributions.
Part of the Group’s activities is to invest a significant
part of its budget each year to advanced research, that
is aimed at benefiting clients and patients by improved
quality and reduced costs, as part of the company’s
commitment to development it participates in the
international research programs of universities,
technical and scientific associations.

Offering solutions that differs
TBS Group is a strategic partner for the integrated
management for health technology across these
major areas:
Health Technology Management – derived from the
Group’s core business activities of Clinical Engineering
and the provision of outsourced multivendor
maintenance services for all medical equipment. HTM
provides for the management of the entire lifecycle of
medical equipment supporting hospitals in planning,
asset management, procurement, training, integrated
care, refurbishment, disposal and replacement.
These services are further extended to more
complex equipment such as endoscopy, diagnostic
imaging, surgical instruments refurbishment and
repair, biomedical related technical aids, energy
management, etc.
Driven by the ever-changing market requirements TBS
Group has diversified its offer across various allied
service areas enabling it to enhance its core business
offering and to reach out a broader set of customers
such as:

Turnkey solutions. For healthcare facilities
technological design, purchase and maintenance
of the whole medical equipment, guaranteeing
budget savings and productivity efficiency. Large-scale
projects can be applied to all medical areas
from operating rooms, endoscopy sectors, intensive
care units, sterilization centres, laboratories
to entire hospitals under the auspices of public-private
partnerships, especially in emerging markets.
Refurbished equipment. Both for purchase and
rental, with particular focus on Endoscopy and
Diagnostic Imaging equipment; the facilities,
warehouses, repair workshops and refurbishing plants
are located in Europe in order to carry out all operations
(from pick up to delivery) and to guarantee
effectiveness of the process.
Financial solutions by supplying technologies utili
sing commercial and governmental backed financial
methods for operating rentals, short and long term
leasing, pay per use, technology as a service,
to revenue sharing and client bespoke models.
Telemedicine and Mobile Health. The provision of
telematic services to augment diagnostic and therapeutic
continuity between hospitals and local community,
whilst reducing bed occupancy for clinical observation
and implementing the most advanced mobile health
solutions for home-based healthcare assistance.
Teleaid, telecontrol, telemonitoring enable emergency
notifications and remote management of suitable forms
of care and aid. Telediagnosis products set up for the
remote monitoring physiological parameters of patients.
Domotics tools aim to simplify daily life and make it safer
for single persons and elderly.
Global Contractor in international trading, consultancy
and procurement tenders promoted by national and
international institutions in emerging markets, mostly for
the supply of healthcare technology. Global contracting
guarantees to the customer financial optimization
through the equipment selection, direct relationship with
OEMs and financial management. Within last few years
TBS Group has been awarded with numerous tenders
for over € 20 million in Albania, Belize, China, Dominican
Republic, Gabon, Honduras, Jordan, Kosovo, Ukraine,
Uruguay, Swaziland, Tunisia, Zimbabwe.

1987
Foundation of TBS Group as spin off of a research project
of the Italian Research Council (CNR).
1991
First contract for the provision of outsourced clinical
engineering services in Italy.
1999
First medical IT contract with the CNR Clinical Physiology
Institute.
Entry of prime industrial and financial partners.
2000
Acquisition of PCS, an Austrian company leader in the
field of hospital IT clinical systems, with operations in
Germany as well.
2002
Acquisition of TeSAN and TeSAN Televita (Italy).
The Group broadens its range of services in telemedicine
and telecare sectors.
2004
Acquisition of the European GE Healthcare Technologies
operations in the segment of clinical engineering services
(excluding the bioimaging equipment). Operational
companies are
established in UK, Spain, France, Portugal and Belgium.

Acquisition of 3 companies from Cardinal group,
operating in Germany, Italy and the Netherlands,
dedicated to multivendor maintenance of rigid and
flexible endoscopy equipment.
2006
Acquisition of the majority of shares of the German
company Subitec GmbH, operating in the clinical
engineering sector.
2007
Acquisition of the Spanish company NCA, operating in
radiology and nuclear medicine area, and the majority
of shares of the Italian group Panacea (Crimo Italia,
M.D. Services), specialized in surgical instruments and
endoscopy repairs as well as clinical engineering services.
2008
Acquisition of the majority of shares of Caribel
Programmazione (Italy) providing medical IT products
and services for the management of nonhospital health
care activities.
Acquisition of EBM (Italy), the second biggest Italian ISO.
TBS Group consolidates its leadership on the national market.
2009
Acquisition of MSI MedServ International Deutschland
GmbH, an international provider of endoscopy services.
TBS Group transfers its clinical engineering activities to
EBM.
TBS SE is established in Serbia.
TBS Group is listed on the exchange stock AIM Italia.
Acquisition of Insiel Mercato (Italy), ICT services
and solutions provider for the healthcare and Public
Administration entities.
2010
Acquisition of MNE Technologies Private Ltd., Indian
company, provider of clinical engineering services.
Acquisition of Delta X (Italy), specialized in the field of
diagnostic imaging.
Acquisition of majority of shares of Erre Effe Informatica
(Italy), specialized in medical IT.
2011
Establishment of Sinopharm TBS (Beijing) Clinical
Engineering Technology Co. Ltd. in China.
2012
Acquisition of IT and Call Center branches from Agile

2013

2015

Acquisition of Tunemedix Lda, a Portuguese company
