The CHED COE The First National Capacity Building Program for Entrepreneurship
PROJECT Educators (CBP4EE) is a CHED Center of Excellence project grant awarded to
GRANT the Department of Entrepreneurship, College of Business, Entrepreneurship and
Accountancy of Miriam College, in an en banc Resolution No. 798-2017 dated
October 24, 2017 in accordance with Commission on Audit (COA) Circular No.
MC as Proponent
2007-001
and Lead
Institution
This grant was signed and sealed through Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
between CHED and MC dated October 12, 2018, and was granted the Authority
to Proceed and Operate dated November 26, 2018; through an official
correspondence received dated December 5, 2018.

Miriam College, as the proponent and lead institution shall facilitate and
implement this CBP4E in the Philippines as approved and runs from December
2018 through June 2020.

THEMATIC This Capacity Building Program for Entrepreneurship Educators in Higher


APPROACH AND Education or CBP4EE is organically grown. Meaning, the crafting of this
GOALS program framework is the result of many years of research and foci of academic
experiences, various collaborative works, policy recommendations in forums and
conferences among others, in the Philippines and from selected ASEAN and
Asia Pacific member countries. This highlighted the search for deeper
understanding of this new generation education discipline and specifically seeks
to:

1. Address the repeated calls for a relevant national entrepreneurship


teachers training as: a) a teacher preparation and education for a
teaching career path; b) re-tooling and enhancement for the
continuous support and sustainability relevant and professionally
competent of entrepreneurship educators and stakeholders; towards
c) the development of an entrepreneurial society 1

2. Align development initiatives to the ASEAN and the Asia Pacific
connectivity, integration and harmonization (ASEAN’s One Vision,
One Identity, One Community; expounding on greater academic and
multi-sector participation, collaboration on creativity, innovation,
research, technology for EE and development, commercialization
and trade (2012); and the UNESCO Global Action Programme
(GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and the
SDG42030);
3. Collaborate and work together with core educators/trainers, experts,
volunteers and like minded agencies and individuals to champion
EE that recognizes the:
“Centrality of the profound value of educators”
4. Build a pool of knowledgeable, competent, effective, relevant
educators in the field of entrepreneurship education and their new
roles beyond classrooms through a capacity and competency
training program with shared goals and common
understanding of typology, that is contextualized in the
Philippine setting; and
5. Achieve its vision of creating capacity building academic
communities for inclusive development and sustainability.

OBJECTIVES 1. Develop and design a common professional teaching competency


training program framework and materials as part of the program
tool kit and guide that may be contextualized according to the needs
and circumstances of the school offering EE;
2. Collaborate with Regional Partner Institutions and core educators as
contributors to champion EE through a training program that will
capacitate EE to be competent, relevant and effective while fulfilling
diverse roles; and
3. Roll out the CBP4EE in the regions;
4. Establish an open network of likeminded educators and stakeholders
in EE for friendship, sharing and exchange of knowledge and
expertise for a capacity building academic communities that will
build and create an impact in educating the youth for an
entrepreneurial society.

ABOUT CBP4EE The Capacity Building Program for Entrepreneurship Educators (CBP4EE)
was launched and piloted in May 27-31 2019 in Miriam College Quezon City.
Over 70 participants who are educators from selected key Regional Academic
Partners in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and guest experts from local and
international agencies attended this.

The Delphi series part of this launch resulted to a co-evolved and contextualized
training program and its material development for Entrepreneurship Educators
(EE).
This co-evolved CBP4EE has gathered the rich contributions of the stakeholders
from selected core educators from the regions as well as technical experts,
industry practitioners, entrepreneurs, students and parents as part of its
preparation for its Regional Roll Outs (RRO).

The RRO series shall be piloted from October 2019 through December 2019 in
Luzon to Mindanao in collaboration with its selected Regional Academic Partner
Schools. Selection of participants in this RRO is generally limited to 20 per
region by application /and/or nomination (as the case maybe, depending on the
regional host school).
Participants should successfully complete the 3-day Training for
Entrepreneurship Educators as Trainers, Facilitators and Leaders (TETFL),
(depending on the partner school, some have only 2-day training). Part of the
commitment is to echo their learning to their school and their academic
community.

CBP4EE is presented in varying modules, an open source, and guide that allows
the participant to contextualize and customize the program application according
to needs, resources, or days of delivery.

THE PROJECT This project comes in 3 phases of progression following the: Logical Process
PHASES & Approach and the Top Down and Bottom Up Approach.

This training builds and leads to the next level of process and progress on how
EE is taught in a holistic approach. It caters to new teachers to practicing and
seasoned ones and those who need to be updated, or re-tooled. The program
series content was drawn from the shared effective and best practices among EE
under the Philippine setting as its distinct footprint. The program is not meant to
teach educators what the subject is. It prepares and guides educators on:

• How to see and immerse self in the process and progress of students
entrepreneurial journey with him/or her, together; not as the sage on
stage; but more of a guide and facilitator;
• To take on various hats from thinking and envisioning as an
entrepreneur and take on the mentorship roles who can strategically
navigate challenges and make good use of whatever limited resources
what one has;
• As leaders with knowledge, qualities and skills who is capable to take

initiatives to build and collaborate with others in the larger ecosystem;
and come out successful in ones own meaning or terms of success

This program focuses on the centrality of the profound and dynamic role of an
educator while wearing different hats; entrepreneurship as an education
discipline, mindset and process for lifelong values and skills in the whole
ecosystem of human and social development.

This program focuses on the science, practical art, and tools for effective course
management and teaching delivery, The best approaches and practices
presented are culled from diverse experiences of educators, experts and related
stakeholders, in the context of ones own setting and circumstances for others to
learn from.

Program Series 3 Advance


This schoolroom to boardroom phase is about integration and evaluation of the
student entrepreneurship learning. This also serves as the springboard to
transition their entrepreneurial intentions, its test and practice, to its continuity
(or not), acceleration and sustainability.

This program provides the avenue for educators to strengthen specific


professional qualities like leadership, by taking on initiatives or establish
affiliations; create a pool of likeminded educators through collaboration for a
supportive ecosystem towards creating a productive an vibrant entrepreneurial
society.

WHO CAN • Academic institutions public and private with EE program with the
PARTICIPATE desire to develop and grow their program and faculty, in higher
education and related disciplines;

• Educators, faculty or administrators who are new and aspiring to become


effective teachers or trainers; and seasoned faculty who needs retooling
or can contribute in building a pool of experts to share the knowledge,
expertise, and resources;

• Local community development planners or training officers involved; in


promoting EE among the youth in formal or non-formal education;
secondary, adult, gender-fair education; or underserved sectors

PROGRAM FEES, Selected qualified participants are given the following provisions:
