An individual program plan is developed for each student based on
his or her previous education, experiences, and career goals. This
includes an individualized practicum, which ensures that students
have a practical public health experience to support academic skills
equivalent to one month of full time work (approximately 140
hours).
The Accelerated MPH in Health Policy and Management
is a blended program with a combination of on-campus and
online classes in a 12-month format over 3 consecutive semesters
(summer, fall, and spring). It is designed to complement the
education of medical students, physicians and other health-care

Global Health Certificate
The online global health certificate offers students the opportunity
to explore health care issues that exist in developing countries and
multi-ethnic populations in industrialized nations. Individuals
working in health care can enhance their knowledge of the health,

Earning a graduate certificate affords students a focused learning
experience in a specific area. Certificates can be combined with an

health of individuals, families and communities through education,
investigation, practice and service. Our faculty are actively engaged
in conducting and publishing applied research in areas such as the
burden of injury and illness, community needs assessment, pro-
grammatic and economic evaluation of public health interventions,
the role of information technology, provisions and policies impact-
ing long term care, and employee health, safety and wellbeing
You will be in good company here, whether you are a traditional
age student or a professional returning to school. Some of your
fellow public health students will be administrators, clinicians, ana-
lysts, and researchers. They have worked in hospitals, health depart-
ments, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, community
agencies, and insurance companies.
The region has a rich history and highly developed network of
social services, advocacy for children and the elderly, disability
services, and vocational rehabilitation.
