Assessing School-Based Managed Programs thru the Lens of Parents:

An Integral Part of Feedback Mechanism among School Stakeholders

ABSTRACT

Every school has problems that need to be addressed. With this, the Department of
Education empowered School-Based Management (SBM), anchored on RA 9155 in 2001
emphasizing the involvement of the stakeholders in the holistic development of a student is
valued by the school administration. As an integral part of the feedback mechanism among
school stakeholders, the assessment of the parents on the existing school- managed programs
will be of immense help in the progress of students.
Mixed method was used whom 240 parents served as respondents of the study
using stratified random sampling and they assessed programs during SY 2018- 2019.
The results were, health-related programs were the most important, followed by
regular meetings, then values formation related programs. Over-all, the assessed programs
were very important to parents with 87.43% MPS.
It served as a channel to strengthen external stakeholders’ involvement and
engagement.
