To Whom It May Concern,

As a lifelong outdoorsman, conservationist and animal lover, I was incredibly intrigued when I heard about the
Global Conservation Campaigns GLOBE internship from my cousin Severn Smith, director of marketing for the
Maryland/DC chapter of The Nature Conservancy. After researching the responsibilities and qualifications
required of this position I am positive that I would make an excellent fit and would perform above and beyond
what is expected of me for many reasons.

The first reason why I would make an excellent fit for the GLOBE internship is due to my prior work experience.
I have worked as a Sales and Marketing Intern for Techtronic Industries, as a Field Marketing Intern for
Thompson Creek Window Company, as a Marketing Intern and Brand Ambassador for Rockstar Energy, and
most recently as the Assistant Marketing Manager at 865 East Apartment Building. Throughout my time in these
positions I learned an incredible amount about marketing, communicating effectively and about overall
professionalism. Specifically, I learned how to think outside the box in order to find new ways to market products
and ideas, to engage a wide variety of people from different socioeconomic backgrounds, and to successfully lead
and be a member of a group.

The second reason why I would excel in this position is due to my field of study; I am a communications major
with a minor in business. During my time as a communications major I have mastered the art of conducting
thorough and effective research, then interpreting the results of my findings and forming an actionable plan. I
have also learned how to communicate my messages and ideas clearly and efficiently through effective and
captivating presentations. During my time as a business minor I have acquired experience in a vast number of
business operations that will allow me to be an asset not only in this specific internship role, but to fill other roles
if needed. The combination of my work experience and education have prepared me to make a positive impact on
the world through a meaningful career.

Despite the positive professional experiences I have gained, I have never had a job in a field that truly inspires me
like this one does. The reason why this job is so appealing to me is because conservation and environmental
protection have always been issues of major importance to me so when I heard about this opportunity to find a job
relating to my field of study and with a mission as important as The Nature Conservancy’s, I was ecstatic to have
the opportunity to apply. If I am chosen for this position I will come into the office everyday eager to work and
will complete all tasks assigned to me in a neat, timely, and effective manner.

I would welcome the chance to discuss a possible future at The Nature Conservancy and to further explain how I
would be the perfect candidate for the Global Conservation Campaigns GLOBE Internship program.
