Position Paper

The Arab Republic of Egypt is one of the founding countries of the United Nations, which
officially came into existence on October 24, 1945. Over the years, our policy showed a solid
response in interaction with the principles and goals of the United Nation and its subsidiaries
especially in the areas of peacekeeping, peacebuilding, and development. It called for respecting
and applying the UN resolutions and worked for commitment to the maintenance of international
peace and security, development of friendly relations with the world peoples, enhancement of
social progress and improvement of living standards and human rights. There are around 34
Agencies, Funds, and Programmes operating in Egypt, the United Nations works with multiple
partners – Government, civil society, academia, the private sector and other national and
international institutions. The Arab Republic of Egypt strongly believes that all nations under the
roof of the UNESCO striving for bright and peaceful future.

Terrorism is a plague that does not differentiate in its spread between developing and developed
societies. Terrorists come from differing societies. They are not bound together by any true
religious faith. That is why it is imperative that we all intensify our cooperation and coordination
efforts to end the support provided to these terrorist organizations that enable them to continue
perpetrating crimes, pursuant to the principles of the Chatter of the United Nations and in
fulfillment of its objectives.

Even though most of the school-age kids were enrolled in school, a huge amount of them is
forced to labor instead of moving up to the middle school after they finished their elementary
school. This is the main struggle of the sustainable development goal in the education sector.
Therefore, The Arab Republic of Egypt needs to look up previous policy and develop a better
policy to provide a good education for not only children but also adults.

Our nation has a strong policy and law on press media to protect our region’s overall peace,
values of Islamic religion. We believe that appreciating human diversity in today's globalized
world is the main key to build peace in minds of men and women.
