Wildlife protection from the medieval India to modern India

From the past itself the people are being concern about the environment and wildlife around
them and they try their level best so as to protect the wildlife as well as the environment. Talking
about the time form the medieval India where the bishnois are the most famous name in the
protection of the environment and wildlife as well, where they were the people who even gave
their lives so as to protect the trees of khejri in the Rajasthan area.

And also taking about the conservation of the forests and wildlife there were several reserved
forests and under the control of the kings and there were also some of the areas where those
reserved forests are being used by the villagers as well.

Talking about the Mughal era where rules and regulations were being provided so as to protect
the species of the plants as well as the animals which were seen as a threat on endangered ones
where strict laws were being made by the rulers of the areas so as to protect such things.

And taking about the British era where the rules and regulations came in the form of acts and
procedure codes as well. There were rules regarding the environment, forest, as well as the
wildlife were being separately included in their acts and codes in the form of the chapters.

There were some of the acts like marwar shooting rules, 1921- where it includes that shooting
within the limits of all the lands, declared forest or reserved for shikarkhana purpose or shooting
of the tigers, panthers, bears, sambhar, and cheetal in all parts of marwar state all are strictly
prohibited except with written permission of his highness maharaja.

Where all the inhabitants of marwar, including state or railway, employees, stationed o duty
within the boundaries of the state together with any guests temporarily residing with them for the
purpose of sport are permitted subject to restrictions, to shoot without obtaining license are
directed to mehkma khas, the rules also includes the rules for the fishing purposes.

Under which the 1st schedule includes with the title as the birds and animals held sacred, the
shooting of which is strictly prohibited which includes the list of those animals which are being
strictly prohibited from being hunted. Same rules and regulations as provided under the marwar
shooting rules are being also included under the bharatpur game regulation, 1912 as well.
Talking about the applicability of the rules and regulations of such acts and rules provided are
being concerned but not on the king and his royal guests which includes the Britishers. Also in
the matter that these rules and regulations are being almost considered useless as they are not
applicable to the persons which are being included under the acts and rules.

Then coming of the protection of wildlife and environment is concerned as after the
independence and coming of the constitution where the rules and regulations being included
under the acts and rules after the independence are applicable to all of the citizens as well as the
state and everyone is equally responsible for any kind of disadvantage caused to the environment
as well as the forest and wildlife.
