GUIDE FOR CLASSROOM ADVISER DURING HOMEROOM MEETING
(November 23, 2019)
AGENDA
1. Class lists
- May conduct roll call of students’ name so that parents’ will know if there
son/daughter is officially enrolled.
2. Study loads
- Write the class schedules on the board for parents’ reference while study loads are
not yet available.
3. Students’ Profile
- Verify the details in the profile if they true and correct especially the parents contact
number and address.
4. Academic concerns
Grading System (Please refer or have a copy of DepED Order No. 8, s. 2015)
GRADING SYSTEM
Promotion Policy – Students are promoted to GRADE 12 if student has passed all the
subjects and or has one (1) to three (3) failed subjects. Those who have failed subjects
are advised to enroll in summer.
Retention Policy – Student is retained in the same grade level if student has
accumulated four (4) or more subjects failed in one school year. Student has to re – take
all the subjects.
For GRADE 12
If GRADE 12 student has one (1) to three (3) failed subjects or behind subjects
(for shifters/transferees) in one school year, the student cannot join the graduation
ceremony and enroll the remaining subjects in summer with maximum of three (3)
subjects to enroll. After summer classes, the student may apply for graduation and be
conferred as summer graduate.
However, student is retained in the same grade level if student has accumulated
four (4) or more subjects failed in one school year. Student has to re – take all the
subjects.
- Inform the parents of students who have still lacking documentary requirements
especially for GRADE 12 since they are graduating.
- All graduating students must have complete documentary requirements as needed
during the processing of application for graduation.
- If the lacking requirement is FORM 137, the parent or student must visit the Records
Section for further instructions.
- Inform the parents of the process (refer to copy given to you thru the coordinator) in
buying textbooks in our textbook section.
- Emphasize that books are subject requirement.
8. Graduation Concerns
- Our GRADE 12 students are done with their pictorial last August this year. Parents
are reminded to check the receipt from their son/daughter as proof of payment.
- Toga sizing will start next week (November 25 – 29, 2019).
- Toga payment is P 200.00 and it is paid at the COOP Office starting next week.
- Maritime students will wear their TYPE A with white gloves during their graduation.
- Graduation FEE is P 1, 936.00 including YEARBOOK.
- Inform the GRADE 12 parents that there will be a meeting to all parents of
graduating students this coming December but no fixed date yet. Parents will be
communicated through the adviser of the final dates.
