Soft 100% acrylic yarn, or I Love This Cotton! 100%
cotton yarn; Color A: tail, Color B: top fin, Color C:
bottom fins Color D: bikini top
 Size 4.25mm G/6 crochet hook and size B/1
2.25mm crochet hook
 Yarn needle
 Scissors
 Stitch marker
*Any yarn may be substituted in any colors, but finished
size may vary and hook size may need to be adjusted. I
recommend using the same type of yarn you used to
make your doll and to adjust hook sizes accordingly, with
the size of hook you used to make your doll, so the tail &
top will be to scale for your doll.

Abbreviations
sc: Single Crochet

scdec: Single Crochet Decrease

+work in continuous rounds, do not join at the end of

hdc: Half Double Crochet

+place st marker in first st of each R and move it up as

next 2, dc next 2, hdc next 2, sc next 3 (34 sts)

R2: *sl st in next, ch1*, repeat from *to* around; fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing and use invisible join.
Weave the long yarn tails to the nearest point of the fin and use them to sew the fins, with right sides facing
out, to the bottom left and bottom right, of the tail at R4 (see cover photo as guide for placement)

Top {B/1 2.25mm hook} *work in rows for the top *leave a 4” tail at the beginning, don’t weave it in
With color D;
Row 1: ch 30, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across (28hdc)

Row 2: ch1, TURN, sc in next 6, ch 8, skip next 3 sts, sc in next 2, 3tr in next, sc in next, sl st in next 2, sc in
next, 3tr in next, sc in next 2, ch 8, skip next 3 sts, sc in next 6 (26 sts)
Leaving a 4” tail, fasten off. Weave each yarn tail to the center of the backs to use to tie the top, do not weave
them in.
