Your Airbrush

You can create wonderful works of art with your Airbrush. Keeping your Airbrush
clean is the key to having it work properly. Here are three simple, yet essential
steps to achieve this on your Apple-Air Compressor & Airbrush:

(1) When you are finished using a color

and want to switch to another, pull the trigger
(with the power on) all the way back and submerge [Picture-Washing]
the Airbrush into hot soapy water (a drop of dish
soap in a bowl of hot water.) Swish back and forth
vigorously to clean the color from the cup. This is
also forcing all the color out of the Airbrush.

(2) Continue step 1 until all the color is out

of the cup. Take the Airbrush out of the soapy water
keeping the trigger back. Let all the water continue to [Picture-Drying]
spray out the tip. Dry off with a soft towel while
keeping the trigger pulled back. (When the trigger
is back it protects the needle tip from getting damaged.)
After the Airbrush is completely dry, let go of the
trigger and you are ready to go on to the next color.

(3) If you find that your color is not coming out

as it should, you may have a small particle in the color
flow. I find it helpful to back flush when this happens.
To back flush, (when you are doing step 1), insure the [Picture-Flushing]
cup is full of the hot soapy water, keeping the trigger all
the way back, put your fingers (or a sponge) around the
tip, trying to close off the flow of air and water. This
will force air back into the cup and cause the water to
bubble. Repeat this until there is no sign of color in the
cup. Most of the time this is all that is needed to loosen
any particles.

A Q-tip or small paintbrush can also be used to clean the color cup and tip. If
you want to use a Q-tip for cleaning the tip, make sure that the needle has been
pulled back inside of the Airbrush body to keep it from getting bent.

If you are using stains or acrylics, Windex or denatured alcohol should be

used in cleaning up at the end of the day.

Remember never leave your Airbrush filled with color if you are not using it.
Color can dry in your Airbrush very fast and ruin it. Lunch or a phone call is long
enough to cause a problem.
Happy Airbrushing!
