Life in Cyber Space

 Cyberspace refers to the virtual computer world, and more specifically, is an electronic medium
used to form a global computer network to facilitate online communication. It is a large
computer network made up of many worldwide computer networks that employ TCP/IP protocol
to aid in communication and data exchange activities.Cyberspace's core feature is an interactive
and virtual environment for a broad range of participants. The term cyberspace was first used by
the American-Canadian author William Gibson in 1982 in a story published in Omni magazine
and then in his book neuromancer. In this science-fiction novel, Gibson described cyberspace as
the creation of a computer network in a world filled with artificially intelligent beings.
Cyberspace allows users to share information, interact, swap ideas, play games, engage in
discussions or social forums, conduct business and create intuitive media, among many other
activities. In the popular culture of the 1990s, cyberspace as a term was taken to describe the
“location” in which people interacted with each other while using the Internet. This is the place
in which online games occur, the land of chat rooms, and the home of instant-messaging
conversations. In this sense, the location of the games or the chat room itself can be said to
“exist” in cyberspace. Cyberspace has also become an important location for social and political
discussion, with the popular emergence in the late 20th and the early 21st century of Web-based
discussion boards and blogs. Blogs are typically produced by individuals who include their
personal writing and often offer running commentary and links to other locations on the Web
they deem of interest. With the emergence of blogging software, even those people unfamiliar
with software programming for the Web can create their own blog. Thus, blogs can be seen as
offering an opportunity for public discussion in cyberspace that is not available in the off-line
world.

 Internet is a huge virtual library of information and data. The most important use of
cyberspace is that you can get your desired information on any kind of topic because internet is
the huge thing that no one can even imagine about, so that will be available on the Internet.
There are search engines like Google, Bing and yahoo. They are at your service 24/7.
 Entertainment is another popular reason why many people prefer to surf their important time on
the Internet. The second use of cyberspace is that you can get access to media library and online
gaming site to entertain your self and to motivate your self for better experience.
 Social networking is also playing a major role in cyberspace. No one can imagine an online life
without Facebook or Twitter. Social networking became more popular among youth that it might
one day can replace physical networking. It has evolved as a great medium to connect with
Billions of people with similar interests as well as worldwide network. The most crucial
advantage of cyberspace is apart from finding lost friends, you can also look for business
opportunities on forums and communities. Besides, there are chat rooms on social media
platforms where users can interact with new and interesting people.

 If you use the Internet for social networking, online banking, or other services. The big flaw of
cyberspace is that you may have a big risk to provide your personal details such as name,
address, credit card number. Unscrupulous people can access this information through unsecured
connections or by planting software. Then they can use your personal information for their
benefit. Needless to say, this may put you in serious trouble.
 The other drawback of cyberspace is spamming refers to sending unwanted text messages and e-
mails in bulk. Which provide no purpose and needlessly obstruct you as well as
the entire system. Such illegal activities can be very frustrating for you as it makes your Internet
slower and less reliable and makes problems in your happy life.
 The most damaging defect of cyberspace is that internet users are often plagued by quick and
hijacking virus attacks on their systems. Virus programs are a huge headache and may get
activated if you click a harmless link. Your systems connected to the Internet are very prone to
targeted virus attacks and may end up crashing your system files and start corrupting.
 Hackers can easily hack your system and stole your personal important data. They can blackmail
you to give them money and do some crimes for them.

And if we talk about cyberspace we urgently need new ideas. We need to find answers and
solutions. I am convinced that we can conceptualise technology solutions for technology-
facilitated problematic behaviours. Until now, most academics have been looking at the cyber
environment through the myopic lens of their individual disciplines. We must take a
holistic, gestalt-like overview to improve our understanding. As the network scientists say, it’s
all about sense-making. We need to make sense of what’s happening .The best approach is
transdisciplinary. We need expert input from a wide array of disciplines to illuminate the
problems and devise the best solutions. We need to stop expecting individuals to manage cyber
issues for themselves or their families. Science, industry, governments, communities, and
families need to come together to create a roadmap for cyber society. If we think about
cyberspace as a continuum, on one side we have idealists, keyboard warriors, early adopters, and
philosophers who feel passionately about the freedom of the Internet and the independence of
cyberspace, and don’t want that weighed down with regulation and governance. On the other end
of the continuum, we have the tech industry with a pragmatic vision of freedom of the Net that is
driven by a desire for profit and concerns that governance and restrictions will impact the bottom
line. These two very different groups are somehow strategically aligned in cyberspace, and
holding firm. The rest of us and our children the 99.9 percent live somewhere along the
continuum, in the middle, between these vested interests. Billions of us now use the technologies
of cyberspace unthinkingly, in the same way we breathe air and drink water. It is an integral part
of our developmental, social, professional, and personal lives. We depend on it for our
livelihoods and lifestyle, for our utilities, opportunities, networking, even our educations.
However, at the same time, we have little or no say about this new frontier, where we are all
living and spending so much of our lives. Most of our energy and focus has been to simply keep
up with a cyber learning curve that gets steeper every year. As we know from environmental
psychology, when you move to a new location, it takes time to adapt and settle in. Before we get
too settled, let’s make sure this is what we want and where we want to be.Cyber effects can tap
into our developmental or psychological Achilles’ heel: while making us feel invincible, these
effects can diminish us, and distract us from things in life that are much more important, more
vital to happiness, and more crucial to our survival.
