“The Bulldog Way”

Striving for the Best, We Rise Above the Rest

November 21, 2019

Dear Parents:

Late this evening we were notified about one of our Junior High Bulldog students who has a suspected case of Bacterial
Meningitis. Information about this can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/meningococcal/index.html. The most common
symptoms include fever and headache. We are particularly concerned if your child is on the Junior High Basketball team,
is religiously exempt from inoculations or has recently been diagnosed with strep and still having symptoms persist after
treatment.

Out of an abundance of caution and with the recommendation of the Morgan County Health Department there will be NO
SCHOOL on Friday, November 22, 2019. Additionally, all the school buildings will be closed to the public so that we may
complete a thorough cleaning of the building.

We are working in conjunction with the Morgan County Health Department to take necessary precautions. If you feel your
child has been exposed or if they exhibit symptoms, please see your physician and let them know of the potential for
exposure. We take the health and safety of our students very seriously and appreciate your cooperation as we take these
precautions to avoid exposure to this potential illness. When additional information becomes available we will
communicate with you.

Sincerely,

Matt Unger, Superintendent
