Good morning everyone! I’m _________________, your jolly tour guide today and it’s
my pleasure to join you in discovering the hidden wonders and treasures of my hometown, Orani
Bataan!

Orani, a 1st class municipality in the province of Bataan, is a coastal town. Located at
107 kilometres (66 mi) north-west of Manila, the land has an area of 64.90 square kilometers or
25.06 square miles which constitutes 4.73% of Bataan's total area. No wonders, there are lots of
surprises Oran Bataan has to offer! Religious structures, environment marvels, indoor and
outdoor resorts and activities, sumptuous seafood and crops, name it, Orani has it!

One could not miss and one of my favourite places here in Orani is the Orani Parisch
Church? Or Parish of Our lady of the Holy Rosary in Orani ? (Maam pasuyo naman po yung
name ng simbahan ne kung tama po). Orani is known as the pilgrim capital of Bataan knowing
that it is where the “Blessed Mother, Virgen Milagrosa del Rosario del Pueblo Orani has been
treasured.

At present, Catholic devotees are at awe because Orani Parish Church is now considered
as a Minor Basilica! Viva La Virgen Maria! It is the Vatican Sacred Congregation as well as the
Discipline of the Sacraments who granted the said title to our church. Indeed, a Virgen Milagrosa
del Rosario del Pueblo de Orani!

Located in the heart town of Orani, said parish church is a Roman Catholic Church built
during Spanish Colonial period in the Philippines, way back 300 years ago. Definitely a history!

The said stunning church building is said to be built sometime in the 1600s. As everyone
noticed, the architectural design of the church is a mixture of old and new architecture. Walking
towards inside the structure, same old façade has clearly seen. Its interior had already undergone
a lot of modernization and restyling, but there are still parts of the old church that lasts.

The epochs old “The Marker of the historic bell of Orani”, known as the 1806 Heritage
Bell is one of the things that made the church special. Installed in front of the church in June 7,
1998, said bell serves as the town’s watch tower making it as the best vantage point for those
villages in the town’s proper, mountains and coastal areas.
 Additionally, the church isn also known for the miraculuous Virgen Milagrosa del Pueblo
de Orani. Since then, the people of Orani and bordering provinces sought the maternal
intercession of Virgen Milagrosa as per belief that innumerable and uncountable miracles have
been experienced by numerous devotees since the image was cherished in Orani.

Presently, people of Orani’s devotion have been handed form generations to generations.
People, from all ages and places go to see the shrine, utter prayers to the Blessed Mother of God
and ask for her intercession and answer for their prayers.
