Packing list (different categories)

1. Business
Basic Bottoms
Whether you plan to wear pants or skirts while traveling for business, pick one basic color
for your bottoms (black, brown or blue) and stick with it. This consistency will eliminate the
need for multiple pairs of shoes and belts in different colors. Dark colors are preferable as
they don't show travel wear, tear, and dirt as easily.

Jacket or Blazer
Choose a basic, solid-color jacket or blazer that matches your basic bottoms color scheme.

Tops, Blouses, and Sweaters

Choose prints and solids that coordinate with your basic bottoms color scheme.

A Travel Outfit
If your travel days are long, consider packing a comfortable travel outfit and comfortable
shoes for the trip home.

Shoes
Bring a maximum of one to two pairs of shoes. Select a style and heel height that will work
with your basic wardrobe selections described above. If you'll be doing a lot of walking while
on your business trip, choose comfort over style.

Underwear and Socks

Pack enough for each day of your trip, plus two extra pairs of each. You never know when
you might want to change clothes or just freshen up a bit.

Pajamas
Consider a pajama top style that buttons down the front so it can double as a robe. Most
robes are bulky and take up too much valuable space in your suitcase.

Workout Clothes
Pack one lightweight, quick-dry exercise outfit. Wash it out in the sink after each exercise
session and hang it to dry.

Toiletries
Pack shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, facial cleanser, toothpaste, toothbrush, a razor, and
make-up in resealable plastic bags or a toiletry bag. If you're traveling by air and not
planning to check your bag, keep travel restrictions in mind. All liquids and gels must be
smaller than 3 ounces and must be packed in quart-size plastic bags. Pack these bags in an
outside pocket or on the top of your suitcase since you'll need to remove them as you go
through security checkpoints.

Travel Documents
Place airline reservations, hotel confirmations, and rental car confirmations in a separate
folder for quick and easy reference. If you have these items on your phone or tablet, then
bookmark the sites or flag the email confirmations for quick access.

Laptop Bag
If you're traveling by air, make sure your laptop or tablet is easily accessible since you'll
need to remove it from your briefcase as you go through security. Don't forget your power
cords and thumb drives.

Cell Phone Charger

Pack both a wall charger and a portable charger or power bank in case you need to charge
your phone but don't have an outlet. Bring a car charger if you're traveling by car or will be
renting one at your final destination.

Office Supplies
Pack pens, pencils, paper clips, sticky pads, and notepads. Don't take an entire office supply
store with you in your briefcase—just what you will actually need for your trip.
Business Cards
Replenish your supply of business cards before each business trip. You never know who you
will meet.

10" x 13" Envelopes for Expense Receipts

As you drop each receipt into your envelope, make a note on the front that includes date,
expense amount and the reason for the expense. Doing this will help you save time when
you submit your expense report and ensure you can easily find all of your receipts.

Your Purse
While most female travelers prefer to carry a purse in addition to a briefcase, the general
rule of thumb for business travel is to carry a small purse with minimal contents. Pack your
ID, wallet, gum or mints, a small make-up bag, phone, and any medications you need.

Small Travel Umbrella

Pack this in the outside pocket of your suitcase so it's accessible in the event it is raining
when you arrive.

2. Model

Choose the right suitcase. First things first: You have to pick the right
luggage for the job. If you’re heading out for a quick shoot, don’t bring an
industrial-sized suitcase. You’ll look silly and you’ll feel compelled to fill all the
extra space with stuff you don’t need. Instead, try to stick with a simple carry-
on that’ll let you skip the baggage carousel and travel with ease.

If you’re going away for an extended period of time, you’ll need a larger piece
of luggage. Hard-shell suitcases are great because they keep all your
precious possessions from getting squished and/or destroyed.

Roll your clothes. Rolling your clothes into snug little bundles is an easy way
to save space in your suitcase and keep everything organized. This trick helps
prevent wrinkles too.

It’s inevitable that some of your clothes will end up wrinkled no matter how
well you pack them. But don’t worry. After you have a hot shower at your
hotel, simply hang your wrinkled clothes in the bathroom and close the door to
keep the steam inside. The hot, moist air will make them smooth again.
Plan your outfits ahead of time. It’s impossible to plan ahead for every
circumstance you might encounter while on your trip, but it definitely helps to
plan for the ones you’re absolutely sure about. That way, you’ll know exactly
what to bring and can easily check off each item as you pack. You might even
be able to find new ways to mix and match and overlap a few key pieces to
cut down on the bulk.

Prioritize packing basics only. When it comes to packing, versatility is key.

Be sure to pack a few basics like jeans, t-shirts, and a jacket you can wear
with just about anything. Don’t be afraid to be a ruthless editor, either. You
know the old saying, “Take half the clothes and twice the money?” Well, it’s
true and it’s probably the best packing advice you’ll ever receive.

Use space by saving bags. These handy little bags will save you oodles of
space. Simply fill them with clothes and vacuum out the excess air to make a
compact little package. Many brands are guaranteed to be air and water tight,
so be sure to take along some extra bags in case you need to transport wet or
dirty clothes.

Pick a color scheme. The fewer colors you pack, the easier it will be to
choose outfits on the road. Many supermodels stick with neutrals and add in
pops of color with a bright bag or a unique accessory.

Pack an extra bag. Even if you don’t plan on going on a shopping spree while
abroad, it’s smart to pack an extra bag. Because hey, shopping happens.
(And also because it’s cheaper to pay for the second piece of luggage than it
is to pay for an excessively heavy one.)

Bring your own pillowcase. Bringing your own pillowcases to cover hotel
pillows can go a long way in making you feel at home. You will sleep more
soundly knowing that your skin is next to familiar fabrics, detergents, and
smells. You can always take a new inexpensive set that can be left behind
when you leave.

Don't forget your sunglasses. What’s the first thing Miranda Kerr does when
she steps off a plane? She puts on her sunglasses. For one, she often heads
straight to work and doesn’t want to do her eye makeup. And two, sunglasses
make you look catwalk ready even though you just suffered through a 12-hour
flight.

01 Killer Heels

After walking in stilettos all day, the last thing you want to do is slip on
yet another pair of heels. You never know when a last-minute casting is
going to pop up or who’ll be walking by you on the street—it could be a
model scout, a current client, or even a future employer!

Heels instantly give you better posture, making you look taller, slimmer,
and more confident. Plus, they prove you can walk in heels—a must for
every model. Remember that wearing heels doesn’t necessarily mean
wearing skyscraper stilettos. Don’t be afraid to mix it up with heeled
boots or wedges.

No supermodel leaves the house without their favorite pair of
sunglasses. The right pair of shades will make you look catwalk ready
even though you:

Eye-bag hiding aside, sunglasses also protect your peepers from the
sun’s harmful rays and keep your delicate skin looking young. It’s a win-
win.

03 Skinny Jeans

A pair of slim, fitted jeans will make your legs look longer and leaner and
they go with everything! You can dress them up or down, tuck them into
boots, wear them with heels, or pair them with a simple tank or fitted
tee. This is the perfect outfit for go-sees, by the way.

04 A Fitted Jacket

One of the best fashion investments you can make is a high-quality fitted
jacket. It doesn’t have to be leather, just something simple and classic
that you can dress up or dress down. You can even wear it in the
summer if you’re hopping from airport to airport—airports are
notoriously chilly—or slip it on over a sexy after-hours outfit on a cool
summer evening.

What’s not to love about black? It’s slimming, it’s classic, it goes from
day to night, and it goes with absolutely everything—even itself! It also
adds to the “blank canvas” look that model scouts and agents love.
When a model is dressed simply and stylishly, it’s easier to picture her in
a client’s clothes.

06 Simplicity

Models look their best in modern, clean lines. Nothing fussy, nothing
busy—that means ruffles are out. Keep makeup and jewelry simple, too,
and either buff your nails or choose a neutral nail polish.

07 Hair Elastics

Hair elastics are simple tools that are a must-have in every model’s
arsenal—they help hide a bad hair day and come in handy when you
have a casting and need to show off your beautiful face. Make sure your
ponytail is sleek, not messy, and not over-styled. Agents and clients want
to see you in your natural state.

Clear elastics look best, but you can always hide a bigger or more
colorful hair tie by wrapping a piece of your hair around the ponytail
holder, then securing it with a bobby pin. Also, remember that elastics
break all the time, so be sure to carry a few with you.
