Assignment: Draft of Healthy Eating (Brainstorm Cluster)

How does healthy eating affect out life? Many people don’t ever pay

attention to what they put into their bodies until they get sick and/or require

medical attention. If you ask me, I think one of the reasons fast food is called fast

food is because of how quickly it can make you unhealthy.

How can healthy eating benefit you? First off, eating certain fruits can

provide you with a better source of energy than caffeine or extremely sugary

drinks. Next, knowing what types of food benefit your health and what type of

food have a negative impact on your health.

For my first point, I’d like to talk about breakfast. Breakfast is the most

important meal of the day so its very import we don’t miss it. Most people choose

to eat cereal for breakfast, but this isn’t necessarily optimal as cereal is considered

an ‘empty calorie’ food, meaning that it would take a lot of cereal to fill you, and

eating too much of such a sugary food is unhealthy.

A next factor in healthy eating is time management, if you can properly

control how many times and how often you eat, your health will increase because

eating on time is an important factor on how your metabolism metabolizes. Eating


smaller meals more times a day and not eating too late at night or right before you

sleep also helps your metabolism properly turn the food into energy.

Another thing that can also help with healthy eating his meal prepping. Meal

prepping involves, as the name suggest, preparing your meals in advance so that

you constantly and consistently eat properly and at the right times. It also circles

back to my previous point about time management, if you prepare your meals in

advance, the time you would have spent making food could be better spent doing

some exercise, which, together with healthy eating is good for the body.

Next, I’m going to talk about proportions. Earlier I mentioned how it is

better to eat smaller amounts more times a day, if you find it hard or are unable to

do so, you must know how much you should consume in a portion. Because, eating

too much of anything, be it junk food, fruits or vegetables, can cause weight gain,

which is why knowing how much you should eat is an important factor in healthy

eating.

While my last point may not be directly related to healthy eating, it is an

important function of being healthy and having a healthy diet. Exercising and

weight control go hand in hand with healthy eating because exercise and healthy

eating combined is what helps with losing weight.


To sum up what I have said simply, healthy eating is important. As it

improves your lifestyle and keeps you, for lack of better word, healthy. I’d also

like to mention that when you eat healthy, everything seems to be much better,

stress levels are low, not to mention you don’t have to pay thousands of dollars to

see a doctor who specializes in dealing with people who may have eaten unhealthy

most their lives and need medical attention. So, take my advice, skip the fast food

today and have a salad.
