1. SCOPE
Scope of this procedure is to give the correct instruction to sub-suppliers for the painting
activity related to the burners of this order.

5. REPAIR PROCEDURE
• The supplier shall repair all coating defects and damages that will occur during
the construction.
• Products used for repair of defects and damages, shall be supplied wherever
possible, by the same supplier of the original paint system.
• Surfaces treated with inorganic zinc primer shall be repaired using organic zinc
product.
• Inorganic zinc primer shall not overlap adjacent already applied intermediate and
finish coat(s).
• Before application of any further coat material, all damage to previous coat(s)
shall be repaired.
• If the surface being prepared for repair lies adjacent to sound coated surface
which is not to be repaired ,the surface preparation shall overlap for a minimum
of 25mm and a maximum of 50mm the sound coating.
• The remainder of the existing coated surfaces shall be properly protected with
shields or screens to prevent any possible damage to the surrounding sound
coating.
• All area with the thickness lower than specified, shall be cleaned and if
necessary abraded and additional coats applied until DFT meets the specified
requirements: these additional coats shall not be visible on the final coating and
on adjoining areas.
• Surfaces contaminated by grease, oil and any other foreign materials shall be
cleaned and degreased according to std. SSPC-SP 1
• Adhesion qualification test(s) shall be mandatory and shall be performed to
determine the compatibility for each repair method.
