MAKE MENTION

By the righteousness of God! Whoso openeth his lips in this Day and maketh mention of the name of
his Lord, the hosts of Divine inspiration shall descend upon him from the heaven of My name, the All-
Knowing, the All-Wise. On him shall also descend the Concourse on high, each bearing aloft a chalice of
pure light. Thus hath it been foreordained in the realm of God's Revelation, by the behest of Him Who is
the All-Glorious, the Most Powerful.

(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 280)

Praised be God, ye two have demonstrated the truth of your words by your deeds, and have won the
confirmations of the Lord God. Every day at first light, ye gather the Bahá'í children together and teach
them the communes and prayers. This is a most praiseworthy act, and bringeth joy to the children's
hearts: that they should, at every morn, turn their faces toward the Kingdom and make mention of the
Lord and praise His Name, and in the sweetest of voices, chant and recite.

These children are even as young plants, and teaching them the prayers is as letting the rain pour down
upon them, that they may wax tender and fresh, and the soft breezes of the love of God may blow over
them, making them to tremble with joy.

Blessedness awaiteth you, and a fair haven.

(Abdu'l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of Abdu'l-Baha, p. 139)

HE MENTIONS US TOO

By the life of God, I am moved with joy by the mention of the beloved and delighted in the love of the
elect! And now, with a heart clear from aught else save God and overflowing with the love of God, I
mention thee, supplicating God to make thee a lamp of guidance in those districts, that out of thee the
spirit of knowledge may be spread upon the hearts and spirits until thou becomest a spring of fresh and
sweet water whereto the thirsty and earnest desirers will come to drink, and thus be satisfied with the
sweetness thereof.

(Abdu'l-Baha, Tablets of Abdu'l-Baha v2, p. 275)

In truth, I say unto thee, if thou hear this call, do not relax in mentioning God, nor grow weary of
spreading the fragrances of God. And then rejoice at the good news of the gifts which shall shine as the
sun in the highest culmination of America.

(Abdu'l-Baha, Tablets of Abdu'l-Baha v2, p. 330)

Turn with the whole of thy being to God, forget aught else save God, and supplicate God to make thee a
sign of guidance in the midst of people who are veiled from God; perchance they may be guided to the
Orb of all horizons, enter the kingdom of harmony, drink of the cup of the love of God, rejoice at the
manifestation of the Kingdom of God, taste the delight of the mention of God, and shelter themselves
in the shadow of the Tree of Life in the midst of the Paradise of God.

This beseemeth the believers; this is the qualification of the sincere; this is the path of the knowers, and
this is the utmost aim of the faithful.

Exert thy utmost power that thou mayest share this great bounty.

(Abdu'l-Baha, Tablets of Abdu'l-Baha v3, p. 563)

"This is the day to make mention of God, to celebrate His praise, and to serve Him; deprive not
yourselves thereof. Ye are the letters of the words, and the words of the Book. Ye are the saplings which
the hand of Loving-kindness hath planted in the soil of mercy, and which the showers of bounty have
made to flourish. He hath protected you from the mighty winds of misbelief, and the tempestuous gales
of impiety, and nurtured you with the hands of His loving providence. Now is the time for you to put
forth your leaves, and yield your fruit. The fruits of the tree of man have ever been and are goodly deeds
and a praiseworthy character. Withhold not these fruits from the heedless. If they be accepted, your
end is attained, and the purpose of life achieved. If not, leave them in their pastime of vain disputes.
Strive, O people of God, that haply the hearts of the divers kindreds of the earth may, through the
waters of your forbearance and loving-kindness, be cleansed and sanctified from animosity and hatred,
and be made worthy and befitting recipients of the splendors of the Sun of Truth."

(Baha'u'llah, Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, p. 25)

Enter into wedlock, O people, that ye may bring forth one who will make mention of Me...

(Baha'u'llah, Kitab-i-Aqdas)
Make my prayer, O my Lord, a fountain of living waters whereby I may live as long as Thy sovereignty
endureth, and may make mention of Thee in every world of Thy worlds.

(Baha'u'llah, Long Obligatory Prayer)

O SON OF BEING!

Make mention of Me on My earth, that in My heaven I may remember thee, thus shall Mine eyes and
thine be solaced.

(Baha'u'llah, The Arabic Hidden Words #43)
