 KAIZEN IN DAILY IN-LINE INSPECTION REPORT

Earlier

In Madhura, there was only one daily in-line inspection report in which the defects occurring
in each process like collar, placket, pocket, armhole, side seam, sleeve placket etc. is there in
only one sheet and because of which only some defects are highlighted i.e. only 3-4 defects
are there.

Drawback

All the defects are not shown in the report of each process. Because of this, for example for
the collar operator if the defect was not there in the report then he/she needs to write
manually on the back side of the report sheet that takes a lot of time.

Improvement

Now, there are more than one daily in-line inspection reports for each process taking place during
the specified working hours. In this, all the frequently occurring defects are listed which makes it
easier for them to mark correctly. It is now easier to know about the root cause i.e. defect so that
it may not hamper the production.

Now, the operators can easily mark the defects and there is no need to write on the back of the
sheet saving time.

EARLIER

In Madhura banglore unit, stickers which were marked on the garments for labeling were placed
according to the ease of the operator and cutting of the some parts of the garments took place
according to sticker placement which henceforth added a in line process for the operators before
sewing.

DRAWBACK

The extra in process of re-positioning of the sticker some amount of time. Due to which there
was a requirement for an extra labour which used to re-position the sticker and then cut the extra
part. Henceforth an amount of time was added to the whole process.

IMPROVEMENT

Now the process is been removed. Due to which the cycle time and the overall time of the
garment is been reduced to some extent and the extra labour has been been removed, which
was earlier used for the repositioning of the sticker and then cutting the extra part.

There is change in the cutting time of of few parts of the garments as it required an extra part or
an additional edge added to it for the labeling the component/part.
