II. Reading comprehension

Read the text about Prince William and answer the following statements below according
to the reading.

Prince Williams Duke of Cambridge


Prince William Arthur Philip Louis was born on the 21st June 1989. He is a very popular
member of the Royal Family in England. He is the eldest son of Princess Diana and Prince
Charles of Wales, and is the next in line for the British throne after his father.

Early Life and Education


Prince William was educated at four independent schools in the United Kingdom. First he
attended at Mynor´s Nursery school in West London (1958-1987), Wetherby School in
Kensington, London (1987-1990) and Ludgrove School in Wokingham (1990-1995). In 1995
he entered Eton College, one of the most prestigious secondary schools in England. William
was a very good student. He got excellent grades. William was also good at sports
particularly swimming, football, basketball and running.

However, after his parents got divorce in 1996, and Diana his mother died tragically in a car
crash in Paris in 1997. William was very unhappy.

Military Service and Philanthropy


After his graduation from Eton, William took a break from his studies to visit South America
and Africa. Then he attended Scotland´s St. Andrew´s University, where he received a
degree in geography in 2005. One year later, he joined the Royal Military Academy
Sandhurst as a military cadet. William also served in the Royal Air Force as a rescue pilot.

Wife and children


William met kate Middlenton while they were studying in the university, and in 2011 they
got married at Westminster Abbey on April 29. During the ceremony the Queen officially
gave her grandson the title of Duke of Cambridge.
