I. Objectives
The learners ….

a. Demonstrate an understanding of responsible parenthood for a healthy


family life.
b. Define basic terms such as (dating, Courtship and Marriages);
c. Explain the importance of courtship and dating in choosing a life long
partner

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Volleyball

III. Procedure

A. Daily Routine
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of attendance

B. Review
Instruct the students to name the different types of passing in basketball.

C. Motivation
The students will have an activity where they will need to recognize who are in the
puzzle pictures.

D. Lesson Proper
 Presentation
The teacher will facilitate the history, facilities and equipment, and rules and regulations
in volleyball;

History of Volleyball: The game of volleyball, originally called “mintonette”, was


invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan after the invention of basketball only four year
before. Morgan, a graduate of the Springfield College of YMCA, designed the game to
be a combination of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball.

Facilities and Equipment:


 Volleyball ball – made of leather or synthetic leather, have a circumference of 65–
67 cm
 Court – A court 18 meters long and 9 meters wide, divided into two 9 m × 9 m
halves by a net.
 Net – one-meter wide net, the top of the net is 2.43 meters for men's competition,
and 2.24 meters for women's competition.
 Antennae - fastened on the outer edge of vertical side band extending 80cm above
the top of the net
 Poles • Height = 2.55m • Distance from the sideline between 0.05m to 1m

Rules and Regulations:


 6 players on a team, 3 on the front row and 3 on the back row
 Maximum of three hits per side
 Player may not hit the ball twice in succession (A block is not considered a hit)
 Ball may be played off the net during a volley and on a serve
 The boundary lines of the court are in if the ball touches them
 It is legal to contact the ball with any part of a players body
 It is illegal to catch, hold, or throw the ball
 A player cannot block or attack a serve from on or inside the 10 foot line
 After the serve, front line players may switch positions at the net

F. Application
The teacher will call some students to work in front and try to identify the different
equipment used in volleyball. (the teacher will give some equipment and pictures)
