C to 60° C.
¾ Ionization detectors shall not be more than one year old at the time of
installation.
¾ The detectors shall have phosphor bronze spring held under tension by
fusiable soldered link in order to achieve fixed temperature sensing
features.
¾ Each detector should be marked with zone number and detector number,
which can easily be observed from a convenient place. For example- Z-5 / 7
indicate s that the detector belongs to zone 5 and it is at serial no 7 in that
zone.
¾ The number of detectors to be connected to a single zone should not exceed
15.
RESPONSE INDICATOR:
¾ It should be housed in cubicle box having the normal size of 3 inch x 4 inch x 2
inch fabricated out of M.S. / Aluminium.
¾ There should be two LEDs in response indicator.
¾ Mounted to facilitate its viewing from an angle of 60 degree minimum.
¾ Zone number should be marked on the R.I. on front plate.
HOOTERS:
¾ The hooters shall be of electronic solid state type speakers cum siren having
interrupted tone for ‘Alert’ & ‘continuous tone’ for evacuation alarm. The
interrupted tone shall be ON for 3 seconds & OFF for 1 second.
¾ The hooters shall be suitable for an audible range of equal to 80 dB (20 to 25
mtrs) having a frequency range of 500Hz to 1000Hz.
¾ The hooter output shall be approximately 4 Watts.
¾ The hooters shall be suitable for single / dual tone audible alarm & public
address.
¾ The hooters shall also be suitable for wall mounting incorporating hooter cards &
speaker inside a metallic box.
¾ The control panel shall actuate the hooter.
¾ The hooters shall operate on 24V D.C supply.
CONTROL PANELS:
¾ The panel shall be fabricated from 16 gauge (1.6 mm) CRCA sheet, wall / floor
mounting type completely dust & vermin proof with neoprene gasket, front
openable type with hinged door.
¾ The panels shall have glass door with lock & key arrangement.
¾ Suitable knocks outs shall be provided for termination of conduits & cable
glands.
¾ The panels shall be powder coated.
¾ All components & their wiring shall be arranged so as to be conveniently
attended to from the front of panels.
¾ All indicating lamps shall be LED type & of the following colours. The fire
conditions shall be indicated by twin lamps.
a) Red to indicate FIRE conditions.
b) Amber to indicate FAULT condition.
c) Green to indicate HEALTHY condition.
¾ The indicating lamps, control switches, push buttons & fuses shall be located in
the front of the panels. This shall be unambiguously labeled.
¾ The primary alarm circuit shall be cent percent of solid state type without any
moving parts.
¾ All printed circuit boards (PCB s) used in the panels shall be plug in type. The
PCBs shall be suitably protected against atmospheric corrosion.
¾ All rotary switches used shall be robust & shall have silver plated contacts.
¾ Necessary test switches / push buttons for testing of circuits & control panel
lamps.
¾ Panel sounder & its silencing switch shall be provided.
¾ The neutral of the system shall be earthed with the body of the control.
¾ Provision of switch to actuate the alarm on various floors shall be made in the
main control panel
¾ Audio visual indication shall be provided in this panel for the following:
i. MAINS ON
ii. SYSTEM ON
¾ All control, indicating and alarm panel should cent percent solid state without
use of any moving parts. The printed circuit boards used in the panel shall be
plug in fixing arrangement in order to facilitate quick replacement during
maintenance. The printed circuit board should be protected from corrosion.
¾ Each panel shall provide three normally open and three normally closed potential
free contacts for interlocking the operation of air handling equipments and for
computers in switch room.
POWER SUPPLY:
¾ The entire system shall be suitable to operate on 230 Volt + 10%, 50 Hz, single
phase A.C. supply with 24 V. D.C. ‘maintenance free’ sealed battery as a
secondary source. The main features of power supply shall be as under: -
a) The power supply unit shall consist of solid state power rectifier of
adequate capacity so as to provide 24V. Stabilized D.C. power as output
while receiving 230 V. + 10%, A.C. supply.
b) The unit shall also have solid state battery charger circuit for charging
of maintenance free sealed battery whenever the battery is discharged
below predetermined level. The charger shall have trickle charging
facility.
c) The normal voltage of the battery shall be 24 V. D.C. and it shall be
capable of maintaining the maximum load of the system at adequate
voltage for at least one hour in addition to the standing load or losses
for at least 48 hours. The capacity of the battery shall be 45 AH or the
capacity shall be derived at the rate of 2 ampere hour per zone
