Good day!

This is to request your good office to grant us the approval of the two-day School Based
Seminar-Workshop on Campus Journalism to selected students of Union National High School who
are interested to learn the basic journalistic skills. The said activity will be done on July 16-17, 2019. This
aims to provide the students basic journalistic skills on Campus Journalism and select potential students
to be part of the La Unionanon and Estuarine Editorial Staff. Thus, it will train skilled students in
journalism and apply their knowledge in writing articles in competitions.

The project proposal and training matrix on this regard are hereto attached for your review and
approval.

TRAINING DESIGN

I. Rationale

This training is designed to equip UNHS student journalists the essentials of Campus
Journalism. In this context, the knowledge gained from the training will pave the way to
provide the students basic journalistic skills in News Writing, Feature Writing, Editorial
Writing, Sports Writing, Editorial Cartooning, Copy reading and Photo Journalism.
II. Training Description

The Two-day School Based Seminar-Workshop on Campus Journalism is open to selected


students of UNHS who are interested to learn the basic journalistic skills. The said activity
will be conducted on July 16-17, 2019. It is an output-based training, such that each
participant is expected to come up with an output as a requirement to complete the training.
III. Objectives
K-Introduce the basic knowledge and concepts on campus journalism
S-Equip the students with basic and/or enhance gained skills on campus journalism
A-Appreciate the fact that knowledge gained from the training is applied by coming up with
an output
IV. Training content

a. Students may share their ideas through workshops and competitions.


b. Students may apply their knowledge in writing articles in competitions.

V. Training Methodology
This training will make use of the following:
1. Lecture
2. Workshop
3. Presentation of Output
4. Awarding of winners

VII. Expected Output


All activities will be accomplished. Outputs will be checked and evaluated.
VIII. Budgetary Requirement
A Registration Fee of 20.00 pesos for each student participant. The registration fee will be
use for the token, snacks for the speakers and other expenses.
