Rural camp was the huge learning experience to the social work trainee.
Most of the objectives that were laid down for the camp were achieved.
The social work trainee learnt to work as a team and this is the most
important benefit of rural camp. The social work trainee interacted well
with the local community in all the 4 villages and adjusted in the rural
environment without any complain and problem. The trainee along with
her fellow trainees conducted awareness program on health and hygiene
and cultural program and it was observed that a large number of
community people attended the programs and children voluntarily
participated in the activities conducted and villagers clean their
surroundings, which shows that the program was highly effective. The
social work trainees were well appreciated by the CSA staff. Thus, the
rural camp helped the social work trainee in understanding the differences
between urban and rural setting. Thus, the Rural camp was very good
opportunity and beneficial for social work trainee to exercise social work
principles and skills in practical life.
