Vowed with sincerity to carry out mission, vision and flagship thrusts
mandated by Department of Education (DepEd) to all school leaders, Arnel
B. Hajan, Ed. D. School Principal II humbly stated and reported the
school’s significant accomplishment while felt grateful in his first-ever State-
of-the-School-Address (SOSA) speech delivered during Stakeholders’
Awarding Ceremony on Oct. 18 ( Friday).

Deputy Speaker for Mindanao Hon. Mujiv S. Hataman, Congressman, Lone

District of Basilan was invited guest of honor in the said awarding event but
was out on official business. The solon was represented by Isabela City
Mayor Sitti Djalia “Dadah: Turabin-Hataman (his wife) who felt grateful and
proud of the school’s feat. She lauded the school genuine effort and
unstoppable improvement.

Hajan, who took the lead since planning, implementing, monitoring and
documenting the activities under Brigada Eskwela program, has exceeded
beyond what is expected in preparing and maintaining everything for school
opening. As focal person, he mobilized more than participation of
stakeholders and preparation of school’s physical facilities He considered
revolutionizing plans and actions stipulated in DepEd orders and
Memoranda. Pushing everyone beyond their limits to maximize their action
can result to resounding success.

Backed by his previous experience as National Winner in Bragada Eskwela

when he was School Principal of Malamawi National High School, the
school chief, who is noted for his “planning by doing “ work principle
innovated several waste management and clean-up drive programs and
campaign like: Citywide Brigada Limpiesa 2019, school ecologically
activities, best practices on cleanliness, safety measures and conducive
learning hub like installation of CCTV student monitoring system in mostly
all classrooms. These were among the salient interventions in support to
the said school maintenance program
The dynamic and result-oriented school leader recapitulated and expressed
triumphantly all success stories, amazing work magnitude, good feedback
and appraisals the school earned recently in social media platform called
Facebook. However, there was more than to competition, the
responsibilities to raise the school’s overall performance posed daunting
challenge. However, the school status is close to reality.

Today, Begang National High School is zooming beyond tremendous

change and soaring victory. Dubbed as “Makabagong BeNHS”, it certainly
embraced change by heart and mind with sustainability. This pool of efforts
drawn from students, teachers, community and other entities as
stakeholders with impeccable sense of volunteerism made BeNHS a top
performing secondary school in the region. This claim proved apparently
true after Mrs. Gina M. Halasan, Division Brigada Eskwela Program
Coordinator announced the school won this year’s Regional Best School
Implementer for Brigada Eskwela Program alongside a National Awardee.

The school greatly acknowledged stakeholders’ participation and accorded

as excellent partners in fulfilling its commitment to improve learning
performance both physical and aesthetic learning environment.

The School Administrator implicated in his speech that these new

remarkable changes weren’t achieved easily. The overwhelming result was
inspired by unified goal and good grounding work attitude pulled and
established from everyone’s action.

The school set phenomenal record since the program kicked-off. Around
3,000 volunteers hailed from various entities both government and non-
government units actively involved themselves and shown massive support
in kind and monetary donations.
