A hidden number plate alerted police to an outstanding warrant, and an appearance in the
Bacchus Marsh Magistrate court before Magistrate Gregory Robinson.
The court heard on Friday 8 November that Jacob Lambrou was travelling along Grey Street
Darley when he was intercepted by police, due to them not being able to see the vehicles
number plates.
Prosecutor Senior Constable Helen Farmer told the court that checks were conducted on the
accused’s licence and found he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
When interviewed by police at the Bacchus Marsh police station, Lambrou said he “was
working [the day of his hearing], I missed the court date, I clearly forgot.”
The reason for his earlier court date was due to failing a preliminary oral fluid test when
intercepted by police on Grant street Bacchus Marsh back on 16 July 2017.
Lambrou was convicted and fined an aggregate sum of $750 and $127.40 in statutory costs.
He was disqualified from driving for a period of three-months.

The Fiskville Cup

An event for volunteer fire fighters in the Ballan Group of brigades has been running annually since the 1970s.
The Fiskville Cup is a training exercise and this year involved nine-brigades from the Ballan Group and included
Meredith FB (District 7) as a guest brigade.
All brigades participated in eight-scenarios and were award points on each completed scenario.
Held in the Morrisons area it was the Wallace Brigade taking out the 2019 honours.
Mt Egerton FB crew leader Andrew Redfern took out the Robert Molesworth Award for Best Crew Leader.
The Fiskville Cup is held annually with rotating venues each year.
