III. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES

Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity

A. Daily Routine

1. Prayer
2. Greetings

and take a seat.

B. Priming/Motivation

Class to boost your enthusiasm for this

day, I will group you into 4 groups. Each
group will receive materials needed to
perform the task. What you are going to do
is to arrange the puzzle inside the envelope.

The fastest group who will arrange the

puzzle correctly will be the winner and
receive a prize.
Are my instructions clear, class?
Yes, Ma’am.
Product of Sum
and Difference
of Two Terms

Based from the puzzle you had just

formed, what is our topic for this day?

“Product of Sum and Difference of Two

Terms” is our topic for today.

Precisely!
Now class, I want you to find out how to
get the product of sum and difference of two
terms or the binomials.

C. Activity
With the same group, I will give you 5
minutes to finish your activity. The group
who will get the highest score will be declare
as a winner and will receive a prize.

GROUP 1 – Red Team

GROUP 2 – Yellow Team
GROUP 3 – Green Team
GROUP 4 – Blue Team

But before you proceed to your respective

groups please be guided with the word

D. Analysis
1. What did you notice to the given
binomials? We noticed that the given have the same
terms but the operation are different.

2. How did you find answer in

number 1? First we square the first term which is the
(a)2 minus the square of the second term
which is (9)2 it becomes 81, so that the
answer is a2-81.

3. What are the steps in finding the

product of sum and difference of
two terms? Steps:
1. Square the first terms.
2. Minus the square of the last terms.

4. What do we call to the

polynomials having two terms? A polynomial having two terms is called
binomial.
E. Abstraction
In finding the product of sum and
difference of two terms we can use the
formula which is (a+b) (a-b) = (a)2-(b)2.

Again, What is the formula to find the

product of sum and difference of two The formula to find the product of
terms? sum and difference of two terms is (a+b)
(a-b) = (a)2-(b)2.

What are the steps in finding the product Steps:

of sum and difference of two terms? 1. Square the first terms.
2. Minus the square of the last terms.

Is the product of sum an difference of two Yes, Maam.

terms clear to you?

F. Application
Now class lets proceed to our next
activity which is “Math Quiz Bee” using the
same group. I will be the one who will choose
your representative who will answer the
given two terms. The group will raise their
board and got the correct answer will receive
the points. Each level has their
corresponding points. The group got the
highest points will declare as a winner and
receive a plus point in your quiz.

Values Integration

We are the sum of our

actions, and therefore our
habits make all the
difference.

-Aristotle

Who has any idea about this quotation? (Answer may vary.)

The quotation only means that the sum of

our action is the reflection of who we are.
Our character is our profile of our habits.
We are all unique in good way, therefore we
are all on our own path to achieve the success
that we want.

IV. Assessment:
Directions: Find the product of the sum and difference of two terms.
