Petit Pli

Petit Pli is a wearable technology company. Petit Pli aims to clothe the future of humanity,
starting with the next generation. London-based Petit Pli was founded in 2017, by trained
aeronautical engineer Ryan Mario Yasin. Shortly after Ryan gifted clothes to his newborn
nephew, they were already too small! This experience served as a signal: childrenswear today
fails to recognise the dynamic & rapidly changing bodies of Earth’s LittleHumans.

Inspired by aerospace engineering, Petit Pli’s continuous size adjustment is a new way of
approaching garment design - one suitable to high growth rates in children. Petit Pli uses
technical materials that are ultra-lightweight, reinforced, rainproof and breathable because
children are extreme athletes.

London-based Petit Pli was founded in 2017, by Ryan Mario Yasin during his Master's in Global
Innovation Design at Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. Shortly after Ryan
gifted clothes to his newborn nephew Viggo, they were already too small! This experience
served as a signal: childrenswear today fails to recognise the dynamic & rapidly changing bodies
of Earth’s LittleHumans. ⠀
Trained as an Aeronautical engineer, Ryan approached this problem with a fresh perspective,
pioneering a new approach to slow fashion. Determined to create clothes that can grow with our
children, hundreds of tests led to the creation of Petit Pli’s iconic suit.
Today, Petit Pli's team consists of an agile force of interdisciplinary design engineers, fashion
designers, neuroscientists and sociologists.
Brand philosophy

The concept of Petit Pli is built upon using materials resourcefully; because the garments grow
up to seven sizes, parents are buying one garment, not seven.

Campaign
Clothes that grow
Petit Pli constructs the most advanced technical children’s clothing in the world. Petit Pli’s
recycled, versatile & rainproof garments are embedded with a patent pending structure that
allows them to grow bi-directionally to custom fit children from 9 months to 4 years of age. Our
designs are a desirable way to be sustainable & encourage sustainable values in the next
generation.

The suit

Petit Pli's suits have been engineered to be breathable, lightweight and rainproof. While their
expanding structure allows for unrivalled freedom of movement & enable LittleHumans to
journey & summit dreamscapes and trees with ease.
Features :
Sustainability:
The concept of Petit Pli is built upon using materials sustainably. Petit Pli's designs significantly
reduce waste and CO2 emissions at the point of production, distribution and after purchase. Our
garments grow up to 7 sizes – that’s 1 Petit Pli garment purchased in place of 7 traditional ones.
Petit Pli suits are constructed of man-made, recycled fabrics & have a monofibre construction -
allowing them to be easily recycled at the end of their use! Along with this, we’ve partnered with
a manufacturer in Portugal that derives 30% of their energy from solar panels.

Through its approach towards sustainability, Petit Pli hopes to instil slow-fashion values in
growing children by inspiring them to value longevity and innovation in some of the most
intimate products our lives - clothes!

Care
Petit Pli garments can be sculpted & contracted to fit the shape of a LittleHuman, by softly
tugging garments along the horizontal with both hands. We call this feature fn(reset).
Objectives 0f campaign

To Slow down fashion

Ryan Mario Yasin, 2017 James Dyson Award’s UK victor, is deeply concerned about the
distressing amount of money and resources squandered in the fashion industry. Yet, he
acknowledges that fast fashion a “multifaceted problem”.

His main objective was to slow down the fashion and to produce a product with
 Expansion Technology
 Pack Away
 More Sustainable.
 Easy Care
 Stylish Design.

we want our children to grow up in a cleaner, less wasteful world. Our suits are both innovative
and sustainable! Petit Pli's patent-pending suits expand and contract like the panels on satellites
zooming across our skies during orbit.
Our tops and trousers fit children between 9 months and 4 years. Garments are designed with
love in London and made from recycled bottles and sunshine in Portugal.

Future planning
Ryan has even grander plans. “When coming up with the name Petit Pli I was thinking about the
future of the company. We don’t want to be limited to being a children’s wear brand. In the
future we will use this technology in different products. Maternity wear seems to be a popular
request, and so Petit Pli is literally just a description of the mechanics, of the structure.
Ultimately, we want to clothe the future of humanity.”
