Project Title :-

To develop children of sugarcane migrant labors and raise awareness about

women's health

Purpose :-

 Migrated sugarcane laborers are mostly from Marathwada region to western Maharashtra.
They are accompanied by their children at the time of migration to any place seeking for
work. It’s very hard for themselves as well as for their children too, who ages between three
to thirteen years for the moment like migration.These children where been admitted in “local
school” for six months, and later after six months, they migrate to western
Maharashtra.Hence the reason in seek of Livelihood, education of children getting ruin.
As considering the matter with all curiosity we originated with aspect, that these children
should not be deprived of education by taking “Mobile Anganwadi” or “Mobile Support”
class to rehabilitate them for uninterrupted studies or education.
 Women - To make public awareness abouthealth and cleanliness for women. who are
migrating as sugarcane laborers.

Implementing Agency :-

Public awareness and training will be organized in allianceof Education and Health
Department with Ashamant Foundation, for the children and women of sugarcane laborers.

Project Duration :-

Implementation work of this project will be from 1 December 2017 to 30 May 2018.

Expected beneficiary :-

Up to 1,000 children of sugarcane laborers will be given effective education by the medium of
“Mobile Anganwadi” and “Mobile Support” classes.

Around 1000 women of sugarcane laborers will be the part of Public Awareness regarding
health and cleanliness.
Geographical Background :-

Many families migrate from Vidharbh and Central Maharashtra to Marathwada region of
Maharashtra, seeking for livelihood as sugarcane harvesting labors. These labors are mostly Dalits,
Nomadic tribes, etc. They migrate, due to various reasons like low percentage of rainfall and these
people holds horticultural land, so that they have few labor resources for their livelihood.

Large scale of people migrates to West Maharashtra for livelihood source. Maharashtra is
consisted of 264 sugar factories, among those 113 sugar factories are in Western Maharashtra. Each
factory needs at least 1200 laborers to turn sugarcane into furnish material. However, the requirement
of labors in Western Maharashtra is around 1,35,600. Hence, if each labor family hold two children
with them, the figure of children will be around 2,71,200, as these many children will be educational
frailties for six months. So the reason we have to work for the rightsof these children.

Expected workspace :-

We want to take prior step to work in Solapur district of western Maharashtra. There are 29
sugar factories in Solapur district. As every year around 34,800 sugarcane labors relocate with their
families from various places in the seek of job and work. Hence, around 69,600 children relocate with
their parents to Solapur.
