ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Index Card Match
learning model on the ability to examine the structure and language of folk poetry
(pantun, gurindam, and poetry) and write folk poetry in class VII of SMP Negeri 3
Tasikmalaya 2018/2019.
This type of research is quantitative research with real experimental methods. The
population in this study included all samples in this study were class VII as an
experimental class and class VII as a control class. The data collection techniques used
are observation and test techniques.
Based on the results of the study, it is known that the average value of the final
test of the experimental class at KD 3.14 reached 90.84 and KD 4.14 reached 83.96. At
the data processing stage through the normality test it is known that the data obtained are
not normally distributed, so the data processing is continued with the Wilcoxon test. The
results obtained indicate that the value of Wcount = 0 <Wtable = 126.25. Thus, the hypothesis
in this study can be accepted. That is, the Index Card Match learning model significantly
influences learning in studying structure, language, and writing folk poetry in grade VII
students of SMP Negeri 3 Tasikmalaya. Therefore, the Index Card Match learning model
is very appropriate to be applied in learning to study and write poetry especially in class
VII.

ABSTRAK

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Index
Card Match terhadap kemampuan menelaah struktur dan kebahasaan puisi rakyat
(pantun, gurindam, dan syair) serta menulis puisi rakyat pada kelas VII SMP Negeri 3
Tasikmalaya 2018/2019.
Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen
sungguhan. Populasi pada penelitian ini meliputi seluruh kelaSampel dalam penelitian ini
adalah kelas VII sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII sebagai kelas kontrol. Adapun
teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi dan teknik tes.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa rata-rata nilai tes akhir kelas
eksperimen pada KD 3.14 mencapai nilai 90,84 dan KD 4.14 mencapai 83,96. Pada tahap
pengolahan data melalui uji normalitas diketahui bahwa data yang diperoleh berdistribusi
tidak normal, sehingga pengolahan data dilanjutkan dengan uji wilcoxon. Hasil yang
diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa nilai Whitung = 0 < Wdaftar = 126,25. Dengan demikian,
hipotesis pada penelitian ini dapat diterima. Artinya, model pembelajaran Index Card
Match berpengaruh secara signifikan dalam pembelajaran menelaah struktur, kebahasaan,
dan menulis puisi rakyat pada peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Tasikmalaya. Oleh
karena itu, model pembelajaran Index Card Match sangat tepat diterapkan pada
pembelajaran menelaah dan menulis puisi khususnya pada kelas VII.
