BE8261 - Electric Circuits Laboratory
(Regulation 2017)
Time: 3 Hours Maximum Marks: 100

1. Conduct a suitable experiment on the given DC machine which has a parallel field winding,
delivers electrical power and is excited by a DC source. Plot the terminal characteristics of the
machine.

2. By conducting a direct load test on the given single phase static machine determine the
efficiency of the machine under different load conditions. Plot the efficiency versus load power
characteristics.

3. Conduct suitable experiment on DC shunt motor to draw the following performance


characteristics at 50%, 75%, 100% and 120% of loading. (a) Output power Vs
speed,(b) Output power Vs efficiency.

4. Draw the load characteristics of single phase transformer by conducting suitable experiment at
50%, 75%, 100% and 120% of loading and determine the efficiency of the transformer.

5. Conduct suitable experiment on single phase induction motor to draw the following
performance characteristics at 50%,75%,100% and 120% of loading,(a) Output power Vs
speed,(b) Output power Vs efficiency.

6. Conduct the experiment to measure the three phase power using two wattmeter method and
also find the power factor value.

7. Practically verify the Kirchoff’s voltage laws for the network shown in Fig. 2 with the
theoretical calculations.

8. Practically verify the Kirchoff’s laws for the network shown in Fig. with the theoretical
calculations.
9. Compute the current in the branch 2Ω Resistor of the network shown in Fig
using Superposition theorem. Verify the same practically.

10 Compute the current in the branch AB of the network shown in Fig. using
Superposition theorem. Verify the same practically.

11. Find the current through the 4 Ω resistor in the circuit shown in Fig.
both theoretically and practically by using Thevenin’s Theorem.

12. Find the current through the 1kΩ resistor in the circuit shown in Fig. both
theoretically and practically by using Thevenin’s Theorem.

13. Find the current through the 1kΩ resistor in the circuit shown in Fig.both theoretically
and practically by using Norton’s Theorem.
14. Find the current through the 7k Ω resistor in the circuit shown in Fig. both
theoretically and practically by using Maximum power Transfer Theorem.

15. Find the current through the 2 Ω resistor in the circuit shown in Fig. both
theoretically and practically by using Maximum power transfer Theorem.

16. Apply Superposition theorem to find current flows through 1KΩ resistor and verify it
practically by conducting suitable experiment.

17. Experimentally measure the ripple factor and draw the waveforms of half wave rectifier by
using diode circuit.

18. Practically verify the Kirchoff’ current laws for the network shown in Fig. 2 with the
theoretical calculations.

19. Experimentally measure the ripple factor and draw the waveforms of full wave rectifier by
using diode circuit.

20. Draw the frequency response plot. of common emitter (CE) amplifier and also measure gain
of amplifier at different frequencies.

21. Conduct the experiment to study the characteristics of an LVDT position sensor with
respect to the secondary output voltage.

22. Conduct the suitable experiment to convert the heat energy into electrical signal and also
tabulate the readings of different conducting materials.
