Healthy habits such as eating healthy and physical activity have numerous benefits. They

protect such as obesity and diabetes. Practicing healthy eating and drinking water also helps with

weight management and it gives you a boost of energy. After a while, these habits that have been

practiced will become apart of a routine, leading to a healthier lifestyle. Water intake, dieting,

regular physical activity and tracking your metabolic weight are all healthy habits that should be

practiced because of its effect on weight loss, mental health and bodily functions.

Adult humans are made up of 60 percent water, which is why water intake is essential to

living a healthy lifestyle. In order to function properly, all the cells and organs of the body need

water. (Mcintosh, 2018) One of the benefits of drinking water is that it has huge benefits on the

brain. Studies show that even mild dehydration (1-3% of body weight) can impair many aspects

of the brain’s function. (Leech, 2017)

According to a study of young women, fluid loss of 1.36% after exercise impaired both

mood and focus. (Leech,2017) Drinking water also helps dissolve minerals and nutrients,

making them more accessible to the body. (Mcintosh,2018) Enough water intake can also.

preventing kidney damage. the kidneys do not function properly, waste products and excess fluid

can build up inside the body. (Mcintosh, 2018)

Regular exercise is also a healthy habit that improves one’s lifestyle. Exercise can reduce

the risk of developing several diseases like cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Exercise also

affects one’s mood as it has been shown to improve your mood and decrease feelings of

depression and stress. Psychical activity can also increase brain sensitivity for the hormones

serotonin and norepinephrine, which relieve feelings of depression. (Semeco, 2017) According to

a study which focused on 24 women who had been diagnosed with depression, showed that

exercise of any intensity decreased their depression. (Semeco,2017)

Exercise may also lead to weight loss. Studies have shown that combining aerobic

exercise with weight training can maximize fat loss and build muscle (Semeco, 2017) Not only

does exercise make you feel happier, and makes you lose weight it also boost energy levels. One

study found that six weeks of regular exercise reduced feelings of fatigue for 36 healthy people

who had reported constant fatigue. (Semeco, 2017)

A healthy diet includes a good balance of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and

starches, fat and protein. The most common benefit of dieting is weight loss. Losing weight can

help to reduce the risk of chronic conditions. If a person is overweight or obese, they have a

higher risk of developing several conditions such as heart disease. (Critchon-Stewart, 2018)

Healthy eating habits also affect one’s mood. It keeps cortisol, a stress hormone, levels under

control and prevents huge swings in blood sugar that might trigger stress. (Ristick)

What you eat and psychically do affects your metabolism. Which is the rate at which the

body burns calories. Metabolic tests measure the rate at which your body burns calories and uses

oxygen during rest or different activities. (Frey,2019)

In conclusion, anyone can live a healthier lifestyle as long as they form good habits.

Activities such as exercise, dieting and drinking water helps weight loss, prevents diseases, and

are needed to survive. Eating healthy and exercise does not only affects one's physical body , as

living a healthy lifestyle contributes to lower stress levels, decreased depression and a higher self

esteem.
