perseverance, human potentialities etc. It threw light on symbolism, stories and metaphors and it
increased my range of perception.it developed my love and respect for stories.

Please list 3 experiences that you have found meaningful and what made them

 When I danced for a scene from Ramayana in my college days during a competition, I realized I
am much more than me. That a character can have a life larger than you and take you to a more
enriching world and that amazing things can flow through you if you are open to it.
 When I did Surya Namashkar one morning and felt like the whole universe was with me. Like
this kriya was in tune with the universe.
 When I took care of my mom after her surgery, I realized that it is giving that we receive. It was
a profound experience.

Describe one experience of being in a team - celebrations, difficulties, questions

When I was in the ashram for 6 months, I was in a small team of 5 members for the entire course. I was
the only Indian. So I had to make a lot of perceptional shifts and eventually made some good friends. I

choreography with them.

What is your view on environmental sustainability in an educational institution?

It is very pertinent that such sensitivities are reinforced in school itself. When environmental
sustainability is built into the eco system of the school, the children will end building such ideas into
their own lives eventually. Such practices also weave learning with application. It marries preaching with
practice.

 Weakness

Some significant teaching / learning experiences that you have had? (Some detail of time & context)

Teaching yoga in ashram (2013 in ICYER)

My entire lifestyle took a shift. I realized people learn more from your being than you talking. Love is a
great way to build bridges for learning and all honest and productive communication. With love, true
opening of the minds happen too. It takes courage to be fair.

How would you call a teaching practice effective? Please elaborate with examples.

When the content to be covered actually comes from the students through questions that induce critical
thinking, then it is an effective teaching. When the teacher co creates the session with the students
instead of a one sided monologue, the teaching becomes effective. Please have a look at the below
video to have an understanding of what is conveyed. That would be a fine example for what I have
mentioned here.
