Microsoft is joining organizations in the public and private sector to raise awareness of social issues like

human trafficking and the plight of refugees, and how organizations in the public and private sector can
help. In FY17, Microsoft Philanthropies provided more than $30 million in technology and cash
donations to emergency response organizations and organizations serving refugees and displaced
people including Mercy Corps, CARE, the International Rescue Committee, and NetHope

Through a variety of international partnerships, programs, and initiatives, Microsoft endeavors to work
toward a world where all people live with opportunity, freedom, dignity, and equality

the development and use of advanced technology designed to better predict, analyze and respond to
critical human rights situations around the world.

Microsoft provided the Supreme Court of Buenos Aires with a cloud-based media portal that provides
faster, digitized service to citizens.

o Microsoft PhotoDNA: disruptive technology in use to combat the sexual exploitation of children;
helps law enforcement agencies around the world more quickly and accurately identify child victims
and rescue them.

Incorporated and implemented Supplier Anti-Trafficking measures in the Microsoft Supplier Code of
Conduct, auditing, supplier programs and management systems, and increased supplier reporting
transparency on these issues.

Communities- Microsoft contribute positively to society on a global scale by using skills and technology
to help people around the world.

There are three focus areas where Microsoft targets to serve the community:

1) Empowering Youth: The company works to create opprotunities for the youth, globally.

Partners in learning program works to integrate technology into daily teaching, learning, and
research and aims to deliver on the following three focus areas in India:

 Build capacity by delivering a professional development program for teachers through


“Project Shiksha” addressing quality of education through the use of IT.
 Enable and promote creation of best practices in education through Microsoft Innovative
Educators Program.
 Online platform to encourage collaboration through Microsoft Educator Network.

YouthSpark - Project Jyoti helps provide IT skills to young adults in under-served


communities. The program has trained nearly half a million people so far.

Microsoft Learning- Microsoft Learning is aimed at developing skill sets and enhancing
employability of students and IT pros, with over 1 million people certified so far.

DreamSpark- DreamSpark aims to harness the power of software to improve lives,


solve problems, and create economic growth in India.

Imagine Cup- Microsoft host the world's premier youth technology competition,
allowing high school and university students to develop game-changing solutions.

BizSpark- BizSpark gives startups and promising entrepreneurs access to Microsoft


software development tools and key industry connections free of cost.

Project Bhasha- We provide support for our flagship products in 12 Indian languages,
aimed at building a vibrant local language computing community.
Stakeholder Identification:
Microsoft engage with both internal and external stakeholders regularly through various
channels such as meetings, newsletters, citizenship activities, and others. Microsoft manage
stakeholder relationships and ongoing dialogues to help inform and guide their strategies.
