Lab 1 : Design a Visiting card

Aim:

Create a visiting card in Adobe Photoshop

Description:

In this program we are going to create a visiting card by using Adobe Photoshop

Dimensions have been taken such as:

Height: 2 inches

Width: 3 Inches

Resolution: 300 px /in

Procedure:

Step 1: Open Photoshop Software

Step 2: Create a New File with the following dimensions

Height: 2 inches

Width: 3 Inches

Resolution: 300 px /in

Mode : RGB

Step 3: Change the background color which you want to select By using Ctrl+Backspace or Alt+backspace

Step 4: Type the Text by using Text tool(T) and Change the Styles of that Layer(Layer Layer Style
Eg:Stroke)

Step 5: Apply the Different types of styles, Filters(Filter Mask  UnSharp Mask Mask : 1.0 
Radius: 0  Click on OK) and so on

Lab 2: Converting color photo to black and white photo

Aim : Converting color photo to black and white photo

Description:

In this program we are going to change the image from one format (color full) to another format(black
and white). By using the desaturation technique we can easily change the colorful image to black and
white

Procedure:

Step 1: Open photshop Software

Step 2: Take a new file(Height: 8 inches, Width: 12inches, Resolution: 300 px/in, Mode: RGB)

Step 3: Open an Image(File  Open  Select your File  Click on Open )

Step 4: Drag the image into New File

Step 5: Resize the image and apply some Color Corrections, Brightness and contrast

Step 6: De saturate the image(Go to Image Menu  Adjustments  DeSaturate ) or press Ctrl+shift + U

Lab 3: Design a Passport Photo

Aim: To Create a Passport Size Photo

Description:

In this program we are going to create a Passport Image for the given image to do this we have
to follow the given procedure below

Procedure:

Step 1: Open photshop Software

Step 2: Take a new file(Height: 2 inches, Width: 1.5 inches, Resolution: 300 px/in, Mode: RGB)

Step 3: Open an Image(File  Open  Select your File  Click on Open )

Step 4: Drag the image into New File

Step 5: Resize the image and apply some Color Corrections, Brightness and contrast, and borders

Step 6: Go to Edit Menu  Click on Define New Pattern  Enter the name which you want  Click on
OK

Step 7: Take a new File (File Menu  New  Width: 6 in , Height : 4 in, Resolution: 300 px/in , Mode :
RGB  Click on OK)

Step 8 : Go to Edit Menu Click on Fill  Use: Pattern Select your Pattern  Click on OK

Step: 9 Finally Save the File

Lab 4: Changing the picture back ground using Layers

Aim: Changing the picture back ground using Layers

Description:

In this program we are going to set the picture background using layers, to perform this we have to
follow the given procedure as follows-

Procedure:

Step 1: Select Move tool

Selecting the Move Tool from the Tools panel.

Trying to move the Background layer using the Move Tool.


Instead of moving the photo frame, Photoshop informs me that the layer is locked.

The lock icon lets us know that some aspect of this layer is locked.

Step 2: No Transparent Pixels

Selecting the Magic Wand Tool.


Step 3: The white area inside the frame is now selected.
To delete the area by pressing Backspace (Win) / Delete
Instead of deleting the area, Photoshop pops open the Fill dialog box.

Going to Edit > Cut.


Step 4:The white area inside the frame is now filled with... white?
Step 5: We Can't Move The Background Layer Above
Another Layer

The image that will be placed inside the frame.

The image is currently open inside its own document, so I'll quickly copy it into the photo
frame's document by pressing Ctrl+A to select the entire photo.
Step 6: Then, press Ctrl+C and switch over to the photo frame's document, then I'll
press Ctrl+V to paste the image into the document.

Step 7: Go to Layer menu  Click on Layer  new  Layer


from Background

Holding Alt Key and double-clicking on the Background layer.


This instantly changes the name of the Background layer to "Layer 0":

Step: 8The Background layer has been renamed Layer 0.

Lab 5: Create a Cover Page for any text book

Aim: Create a Cover Page for any text book

Description:

Creating a book cover in PhotoShop is simple and only requires a beginner level understanding of
PhotoShop. Once the first cover has been created, the same process, even the same document, can be
used repeatedly to create additional covers.

Procedure:

Step 1: Calculate the width of the book spine

The PPI(Pages per inch) of the 20lb = 508 and the PPI of 24lb = 443.

Step 2: Open a new document in PhotoShop On the “File” bar, select “New…” Fill in the fields, including
the name of the document, and the width and height. Then click “OK”
Step 3: Setting up the guides

Step 5: Place the front cover


Step 6:

Apply the different styles on it such as color correction, bright and contrast, filters, and resize the image

Aim: Creating Custom Shapes

Description:
we're going to look at everything you need to know to create and work with custom shapes in
Photoshop. There's a lot to cover

Procedure:

Step 1: Select The Pen Tool

Step 2: Select The "Shape Layers" Option In The Options


Bar

Step 3: Begin Drawing Your Shape


Step 4: Lower The Opacity Of The Shape Layer
The object is now visible through the shape color after lowering the shape layer's opacity.

Step 5: Continue Tracing The Object


Step 6: Select The Ellipse Tool
Step 7: Select The "Subtract From Shape Area" Option

Step 8: Drag Out Shapes To Subtract Them From The


Initial Shape
Step 9: Subtract Any Remaining Details From The Shape
Using The Pen Tool
Step 10: Increase The Opacity Of The Shape Layer Back
To 100%
Step 11: Define The Shape As A Custom Shape
Go to Edit > Define Custom Shape.

Step 12: Open A New Photoshop Document


Step 13: Select The Custom Shape Tool

Step 14: Select Your Custom Shape

Step 15: Drag Out Your Shape
