Muara Karang power plant plays an important role to meet the electricity needs
in the capital city of Jakarta, especially in VVIP districts such as President Palace,
People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and House of Representative (DPR)
Building. Every year it generates electricity energy approximately 7.900 GWh
which is channelized through Extra High Voltage Air Channel 500 kV and High
Voltage Air Channel 150 kV to Java and Bali interconnection.
