PART A (40 Marks)

The ASSURE model is an instructional system design process which can be used by
teachers to facilitate teaching via six steps of instruction to ensure learners optimise
teaching and learning through the use of media. The six steps of instruction are as follows;

Steps 1 – A : Analyse learners


Steps 2 – S : State objectives
Steps 3 – S : Select methods, media and materials
Steps 4 – U : Utilise media and materials
Steps 5 – R : Require learner participation
Steps 6 – E : Evaluate and revise

Discuss the ASSURE model as an instructional system design process which facilitates
teaching and learning.

You are to discuss the SIX steps above in detail and then apply them to teaching and
learning in the classroom. The classroom must use instructional technology as the enabler
of teaching and learning.

Your assignment may be organised as follows;

1. Introduction of the ASSURE model as an instructional system design process for


teaching and learning.
2. Discussion of the six principal elements of the ASSURE model in detail.
3. Discussion of a best-practice application of the ASSURE model in the teaching and
learning context.
4. Conclusion.

Model ASSURE merupakan satu proses reka bentuk instruksional pengajaran yang digunakan
oleh guru untuk memudahkan cara pengajaran melalui enam langkah instruksional bagi
memastikan pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang optimum melalui penggunaan media.
Enam langkah instruksional yang dimaksudkan adalah seperti berikut;

A : Analyse learners (Analisa pelajar)


S : State objectives (Nyatakan objektif)
S : Select methods, media and materials (Pilih kaedah, media dan bahan)
U : Utilise media and materials (Guna media dan bahan)
R : Require learner participation (Perlu penglibatan pelajar)
E : Evaluate and revise (Menilai dan menyemak)

Bincangkan model ASSURE sebagai proses reka bentuk instruksional yang memudahkan cara
pengajaran dan pembelajaran.

Anda boleh membincangkan ENAM langkah di atas secara terperinci dengan mengaitkannya
kepada pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam bilik darjah. Bilik darjah tersebut hendaklah
menggunakan teknologi pengajaran sebagai penggerak pengajaran dan pembelajaran.

Tugasan anda boleh disusun seperti berikut:

1. Pengenalan model ASSURE sebagai suatu proses reka bentuk sistem instruksional
pengajaran dan pembelajaran.
2. Perbincangan terperinci tentang enam elemen utama model ASSURE.
3. Perbincangan tentang penggunaan amalan-amalan terbaik model ASSURE dalam
konteks pengajaran dan pembelajaran.
