I. Program Title
A. Project Title: Procurement of TV-Assisted Instructional Materials and Printing Unit for
Kindergarten Learners of Balaoan District
II. Rationale
Kindergarten has been made part of formal education in our K to 12 Curriculum. This kind of
education is very important in the life of every child because it is given in the formative years of the child
when the brain is still developing and needs to be given a better start for the future well-being of the
child. Most child psychologists pay great deal of attention to children at this level. This is because it is
the most important period when humans (children) establish foundations for the various aspects of
their developmental needs including physical, mental, emotional, social and intellectual developments
which need not be taken lightly. For the child to be able to develop properly there is the need for pre-
school education to give every child the opportunity to interact with his or her peers and also engage in
a variety of activities. The used of TV-Assisted instructional materials at the kindergarten level help
children in their cognitive development. There is therefore the need to use the right instructional
materials that will meet the needs of each child in order for them to develop properly. Instructional
materials using TV-Assisted Instruction are seen important in the teaching learning process because it
stimulates learning, provides concrete basis for conceptual thinking, motivate learners to learn and
captures their imagination if used correctly. Learning best takes place when learners are allowed to
visualize and explore their lessons. Instructional materials therefore provide a lot of first hand
experiences which are developmentally appropriate and help children to acquire symbolic knowledge
which helps them in their learning experiences.
Instructional materials are the most important tools in the teaching and learning process.
Effective teaching at the kindergarten level depends much on the varieties, availability and use of
instructional materials. The appropriate use of TV-Assisted-instructional materials will help pupils to
understand what is being taught and teaching and learning will be facilitated easier.
III. Objectives:
