FUTURE OF HUMANITY ALONG ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS

Environmental problems are something which belongs to nature or known as

“Mother Earth.” Nature was created to help people survive from gathering foods until
build a house. This phenomenon happens continuously without thinking how much
damage that nature has because human’s fault. Nature gradually becomes worse and
animal’s life in danger. People who are aware of the importance of nature react. Those
people do several ways to save the environment. Although these efforts can return back
the environment, these efforts only can be hold temporarily. This problem happens
because those people who are aware of the environment only slightly; for remaining,
there are people either do not know or do not care about the nature. The effect that
humanity is having on the environment is becoming ever-more important. Through our
actions we are destroying habitats and endangering the lives of future generations. At
this point there is no denying the fact that our environment is changing. Hundreds of
studies have been conducted to demonstrate that this is happening and it is having an
effect on life around us.

According to, Our Environment, Our Future - Nature Conservation Council of New
South Wales, the leading environmental advocacy organisations in New South Wales,
are united by a vision of a state in which our society lives sustainably, recognising the
limits and services provided by nature and mobilising our capacity for innovation and
investment in the future. “This vision will not destroy the economy and jobs, as some
out of touch with reality and community aspiration might claim. It can create a new
economy, that is not reliant on ‘short-termism’ and backroom deals; and which
produces many thousands of sustainable jobs for the future. In the broad sweep of
human history, our generation is the first to be confronted with a stark choice - take
urgent action to reduce carbon and other pollution; retain the benefits of the natural
systems which give us clean air and water and food; and contribute to stabilising the
earth’s climate - or face unprecedented changes to our way of life. The NSW
Government has a critical leadership role to play in Australia’s diverse economy with its
great capacity for innovation, investment and care for the environment. It’s time for our
political leaders to chart a new course by adopting a bold, positive vision for
environmental protection and nature conservation in NSW.” Conferring to them, with
effective political leadership and progressive environmental policy, their state has an
opportunity to build a more open, transparent and environmentally responsible society
that engages local communities in visionary decisions to protect the environment and
create a sustainable way of life.

In the same way with the European Union, they envision the future of
environment with this “The underlying aim is to improve the quality of the environment,
protect human health, achieve prudent and rational use of natural resources, and
promote international measures to address global or regional environmental problems.”
Many take the environment for granted, but pressure on the Earth’s finite resources is
growing at an unprecedented rate. Efforts must be made to raise general awareness,
use resources more efficiently and eradicate damaging and wasteful behaviour.
Otherwise, future generations will be deprived of their legitimate inheritance. All this
aims to ensure that by 2050 EU citizens live in a safe and healthy natural environment
which is managed in ways that respect environmental limits and ensure ecological
resilience. The following 2050 vision from the general EU Environment Action
Programme is intended to help guide action up to and beyond 2020: ‘In 2050, we live
well, within the planet’s ecological limits. Our prosperity and healthy environment stem
from an innovative, circular economy where nothing is wasted and where natural
resources are managed sustainably, and biodiversity is protected, valued and restored
in ways that enhance our society’s resilience. Our low-carbon growth has long been
decoupled from resource use, setting the pace for a safe and sustainable global
society.’

On the other side, in the article of Future Earth discusses the vision of Future
Earth is for people to thrive in a sustainable and equitable world. This requires
contributions from a new type of science that links disciplines, knowledge systems and
societal partners to support a more agile global innovation system. Future Earth is a
global research platform designed to provide the knowledge needed to support
transformations towards sustainability. Future Earth seeks to build and connect
knowledge to increase the impact of research, to explore new development paths, and
to find new ways to accelerate transitions to sustainable development.

This document outlines what Future Earth needs to contribute to achieve its
vision by 2025. The following are the vision of the Future Earth as listed below:
1. Why do we need Future Earth? Inspired and created ground-breaking
interdisciplinary science relevant to major global sustainability challenges.
2. What will Future Earth deliver? Delivered products and services that our
societal partners need to meet these challenges.
3. How will Future Earth work? Pioneered approaches to co-design and co-
produce solutions-oriented science, knowledge and innovation for global
sustainable development.
4. Who will Future Earth be? Enabled and mobilised capacities to co-produce
knowledge, across cultural and social differences, geographies and
generations.
With this, Future Earth will work with partners in society to co-develop the knowledge
needed to support decision-makers and societal change at all scales and in diverse
contexts towards sustainability.

No one has a crystal ball to tell us exactly what lies ahead but we can look at
past trends and current data to make future predictions.
With all of this different kind of organizations which entails positive vision of the
future, we can have a sustainable environment with effective political leadership and
progressive environmental policy, our environment has an opportunity to build a more
open, transparent and environmentally responsible society that engages local
communities in visionary decisions to protect the environment and create a sustainable
way of life.
