they learned and a quick summary over their video before they share the actual video they have created.
After each student has presented, I will give every student an individual rubric that shows their grade and the
feedback that I have about their video. Students will be invited to come visit with me to discuss their
feedback. All feedback will be given to the students in an appropriate and encouraging manner.
Importance of technology:
Using a multimedia authoring tool is critical to this project because it allows students and teachers to create
videos that are creative and meaningful without having to fully create something from scratch. Teachers and
students can use, with appropriate citations, other creations in their work in order to enhance what they are
doing. It would be very difficult to complete this project without this technology. While it could be done, it
would be too time consuming and difficult for a teacher and her students to utilize this tool. Without using
this technology, things such as creativity, collaboration, and fun would be lost. Other types of technology that
could be used in this learning experience would be the websites that are utilized and appreciated in order to
bring a project like this together.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy:
When implementing this lesson, some issues could arise. These issues could be internet safety and student
privacy related. This could be that some parents do not want their children on the Internet or that certain
websites may not be safe or law abiding to use within the school. To minimize the risk for myself and my
students, I would also use websites that are approved and verified to use in my class. I would also only allow
students that have signed permission forms sent in from their parents to use the Internet and would make
sure that every student and parent is aware of the dangers of the Internet and how to take the proper
precautions in order to stay safe. To alleviate any fears that parents or administrators may have, I would be
very explicit about what I would be doing with the students while on the Internet. I would be sure to explain
how I will follow all laws and regulations around Internet safety and how every student will be monitored
while they use any type of technology. I will be sure to follow every and all Internet Safety and Acceptable
Use Policies.
Reflective Practice:
After creating this lesson, I feel that the activities that I have created could impact student learning in a positive way. I
feel that the activities are authentic and meaningful and will benefit student learning. In order to further extend this
lesson, once the students completed their videos I could have them share them with others that are outside of our
classroom. They could share them with the rest of the school population and administrators. They could share them with
their parents, or they could even have them published on an appropriate and safe website so others could use and
appreciate their work. There are other technology tools that could be used such as other education websites to build
their knowledge and videos over the water cycle.
