LESSON PLAN IN TEACHING LISTENING

OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson, the students must be able to:

a. get the necessary information from the song listened to;

b. make prediction about the questions related to the song;
c. express their ideas collaboratively about the questions related to the song;
and
d. make a speech related to the song.

SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson

Materials: powerpoint presentation, projector, speaker

PROCEDURE:

ACTIVITY: Group the students into five (5). Then, let them list down at least 5
similar words related to the assigned idea. Prepare each group for presentation
to the class.

Group 1-stealing Group 3- violence and Group 4- out of school

Group 2-pollution crime youth
Group 5-poverty

ABSTRACT:

Present the song “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson. Ask the essential
question: While listening to the song, what makes our world a better place to
live in? Why?

After listening, ask the following questions:

a. According to the song, list down the qualities of a better world.

b. Give some ways on how to have a better world. Categorize these ways
base on the difficulty of response of people doing it. (1 as the easiest and
4 as the highest)
 Example:

2. Loving your
enemy
3.

c. Do you think people can do these ways? Why or why not?

d. Give the main theme of the song? How do you say so?
e. If you are given a chance to be a youth ambassador of the Philippines in
an Asian Conference, what will be our advocacy?

APPLICATION:

Make your speech as a youth ambassador of the Philippines in an Asian

Conference.

ASSIGNMENT:

Using your mobile phone, make a vlog on how to promote the message of the
song to other people.
