ABSTRACT

The setup for object rejection machine is quite simple to understand but complex to assemble
and run in the practical way. Initially when power supply is on, the main DC geared motor run
the conveyor belt in one direction. The belt is supported by the wooden platform from the centre
thus it provides adequate support to the moving objects coming to it. The IR sensing circuit duly
connected with the switching relay change the status for two motors i.e. one is on and other is
off. When the excess height is sensed by the IR circuit it activates the changeover relay and it
stops the conveyor belt for specific time till that the other reject machine setup rejects and
remove that object from the conveyor belt. As soon as the object is removed from the belt, the
changeover relay again come to its old status to run the conveyor belt. The counter (99 max.)
circuit count the selected material come to the selection box. A 12V power supply provides DC
power to the whole circuit.

1. Introduction
TA conveyor belt or belt conveyor consists of two pulleys, with a continuous loop of material
that rotates about them. The pulleys are powered, moving the belt and the material on the belt
forward. Conveyor belts are extensively used to transport industrial and agricultural materials,
such as grain, coal, ores, etc. Material flowing over the belt may be weighed in transit using a
beltweigher. Belts with regularly spaced partitions, known as elevator belts, are used for
transporting loose materials up steep inclines. Conveyor belts are used in self-unloading bulk
freighters and in live bottom trucks. This technology is also used in conveyor transport such as
moving sidewalks or escalators, as well as on many manufacturing assembly lines. Stores often
have conveyor belts at the check-out counter to move shopping items. Ski areas also use
conveyor belts to transport skiers up the hill. A wide variety of conveying machines are
available, different as regards principle of operation, means and direction of conveyance,
including screw conveyors, the moving floor system, which uses reciprocating slats to move
cargo, and roller conveyor system, which uses a series of powered rollers to convey boxes or
pallets

The longest conveyor belt in the world is in Western Sahara. It is 100 km long, from the
phosphate mines of Bu Craa to the coast south of El-Aaiun. The longest single belt conveyor
runs from Meghalaya in India to Sylhet in Bangladesh. It is 17 km long and conveys limestone
and shale.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The circuit is simple NPN transistor common emitter switching circuit. The transistor T-1 is supplied
through negative at emitter. The base is conducted through the port output from computer and
collector gives output to energies the relay commonly connected to +ve supply. The diode prevents back
emf produced by relay while working.

CONCLUSION AND RESULTS

By this overview on the object rejection and counting machine, we can conclude the following

1.The object separation method by IR Sensors plays important role in the industries.

2.Object can be separated by the height of the product.

3.We can increases the size of conveyor belt system for

this we have required to include more parts of
machine and more number of motors are required.

4.For the proper design and calibration we can use the

higher quality sensors and cameras on behalf of this we can
separate the multi colored object.

5. Instead of using an actuation motors we can also

design a robotic arm to elite the objects on the
conveyor and place it to another path.

6. We can count the large amount of the product by using counter circuit.
