Thank you for purchasing EVERFINE CT500 Goniophotometer Controller. Read


the user’s manual carefully in advance for proper use as it explains clearly the
instrument’s functions, operations and safety specification. Please keep the manual in
right place for quick references whenever a problem arises.

Cautions

1. Please read the manual carefully before operation.


2. Please connect wires correctly according to the manual, otherwise this instrument
may be hindered.
3. Plug in the controller before turning on the power supply of the goniophotometer,
and then give power supply to the rotary table.
4. The axes can be stopped from rotating when there is any abnormity in the system
by pressing the button “EMERGENCY STOP”. Please keep the button in reset
status (Please turn the button in the direction of the arrow to make it pop out.) if it
is unnecessary. The system will not work properly when the button is pressed
down.
5. It must be CV AC power supplied with single-phase 220V (50Hz/60Hz) and well
grounded. In order to avoid interruption, EMI filter that is well grounded shall be

equipped for the wires in. Please pay special attention that the ground wire is well
grounded which differs from the null line.

Chapter 1 Overview

CT500 Goniophotometer Controller is a specific instrument for displaying and


controlling, which fits EVERFINE’s advanced goniophotometer system. The
controller is equipped with 17 inches LCD touch screen, and highly integrates axis
angle display, controlling and photometer illuminance surveillance, which makes
operation more convenient. CAN bus is adopted by CT500 to exchange data rapidly
with goniophotometer, and value of axis angle and illuminance of the selected channel
is displayed on the screen in real time.

Chapter 2 Main Functions and Specifications

2.1 Principle block and main functions

Main functions:

1. The angle of the two axes as well as the values of luminosity of each channel in
the equipped goniophotometer system is displayed on the screen.
2. The relative angular rotation of the goniophotometer system is controlled, so that
the angle can be set accurately depending on the current position.
3. Electrical parameter of digital power meter that is equipped with the
goniophotometer system is displayed.
4. The value of hygrothermograph that is equipped with the goniophotometer is
displayed.
5. High-speed communication with the test system is implemented by CAN bus,
and the measurement result is displayed simultaneously.

2.2 Main Specifications

1. The unit of angle display: degree.


2. Angle display range: -360.000 degrees ~ +360.000 degrees.
3. Rated working conditions:
Temperature:10℃~35℃;
Humidity:≤80% R.H.;
Power supply:AC 198V~242V,50Hz~60Hz.

Chapter 3 Software Operation

Software operation is composed of system setting, angle control and ID-1000


photometer operation. All the functions are implemented by touching relative buttons
on the screen.
The welcome interface of the goniophotometer displays (Take GO-R5000 as an
example as shown in Fig.3) when the CT500_TouchPC runs. Touch any position to
enter the main operation interface(as shown in Fig.4).

1. Rotation Indication: Showing the status of axis rotation and USB-CAN


connection.
RUNNING Axis A or C is rotating.
STOP Axis A and C are both still.
ERROR: 001 USB-CAN controller fails to connect, and any other operation is
hindered. Please make sure that both the USB-CAN connection and the selected
type of USB-CAN are correct.
2. A Angle: Display the current angle of A Angle.
3. C Angle: Display the current angle of C Angle.
4. Photometer: Display the illuminance value of the selected photometer ID-1000.
5. Electric Power: Display the value of the digital power meter connected to CAN
bus.
6. Temperature: Display the value of hygrothermograph connected to CAN bus.
7. Illuminance Curve: Display the illuminance curve measured by photometer
ID-1000 in real time.

8. Menu: Click the relevant buttons to operate the software system (as shown in
Fig.5).

l A GO: Click to enter the interface of angle input (as shown in Fig.6). Press the
button “OK” after setting rotation angle and speed to rotate the axis. Press the
button “STOP” in the main interface (as shown in Fig.4) to stop rotating.

l A Reset: Click to reset the axis A directly, and press the button “STOP” in the
main interface (as shown in fig.4) to stop rotating.
l C GO: Click to enter the interface for angle input (as shown in Fig.6). Press the
button “OK” after setting rotation angle and speed, to rotate the axis C. Press the
button “STOP” in the main interface (as shown in Fig.4) to stop rotating.
l C Reset: Click to reset the axis C, and press the button “STOP” in the main
interface directly to stop rotating.
l Photometer: Click to enter the interface for photometer setup (as shown in Fig.7).
Activate one of the photometers firstly when there are multiple photometers.
Automatic or fixed measurement range can be set in this interface. Automatic
measurement range is preferred usually.

l Photometer Setting: Click to this button, and dialogue of system setup appears
(as shown in Fig.8), where USB-CAN and language setting is completed.(Notice:
Please restart CT500_TouchPC after setting), as well as the setting of inching
rotation angle and time width of illuminance history data. If the inching rotation angle
is set with 1 degree, press the button “+” to rotate 1 degree and press “-“ to rotate 1
degree in the opposite direction. If the time width is set with 1 minute, the current
illuminance curve displayed is the one of the lately 1 minute.

l Blank Screen: Click to enter the blank screen mode to prevent measurement
accuracy affection caused by lights.
l Copyright: Click to display information about software version, copyright etc.
l Restart: Click to restart the computer and operation system.
l Shutdown: Click to shut down the computer automatically.
l Exit: Click to exit the software of CT500_TouchPC.
l Back: Click to return the main operation interface.
