DISASTER RESPONSE PLAN 2

Besides other systems such as the ISEE, the DR plan has proven to be a well- structured

approach that contains strategies and instructions which help improve the quality of response to

the future event whose occurrence not predicted with certainty. It comprises procedural steps and

precautions which reduce the effect of a disaster that may occur to an organization. Typically, it

involves impact analysis and then provides a detailed plan which meets the recovery objectives,

which further allows the organization to resume its operations and critical missions quickly.

The DR plan helps determine where to focus on available resources that match the

urgent needs. Regarding the impact of a destructive event, it identifies its starting point;

management policies prevent unforeseen further risks hence maintains normal activities while

still managing the crisis. It guides recovery and productive reconstruction. Departments can

retrieve lost information and rescue damaged records, which are essential in establishing a

detailed step –by – step recovery plan.

Moreover, it mandates specific security, maintenance, and training programs for disaster

prevention. This gets done by securing private data such as social security numbers, phone

numbers, financial data, and many more. Contingency planning includes the results of business

effect analysis and document contingency strategies that need a maintenance plan to avoid any

disaster that may arise. In this case, changes that get delayed or rejected should get noted, and the

change should get notified. DR plan has been a significant rescue to such instances of security

and maintenance in the contingency plan (Daniel R. Philpot, 2013).

Furthermore, it secures sites and facilities by setting up a recovery site meant for disaster

only. The disaster recovery site is very important in an organization since it’s crucial to have a

plan in case there is a natural disaster in its primary location. The natural disaster in this case

includes security breach or flood. It should also have an internal and external recovery site that is

maintained by the company and the provider, respectively. DR plan helps reduce any disaster

that may occur in any given business site and also secures the facilities that get used. The

operation at the disaster site continues before full access is guaranteed. This gets done to allow

the regular P operations because the consequence of unaccustomed improvisation is inefficacious

in disaster response, which may have a tragic repercussion (Kelly, C, 1995).

Conclusively disaster response plan aims at preparing an organization on how best to

respond to an emergency and another humanitarian impact. It's, however, axiomatic that these

need to be finite by foresight and preparedness, which can compel it to a necessary minimum.

DR plan at least minimizes the undesirable effects of any unforeseen incident. (Tierney, K, 2008)
