Introduction

Throughout history, the sporting event has played a significant role in communities

around the world. More than ever before, contest pushing the physical limit is more prevalent

than ever before, for instance, on the 12th of October 2019. Eliud Kipchoge, a marathoner from

Kenya, went in history as the first human to run a 42km marathon in less than two hours. As

interest in longevity and health continue to rise, businesses, as well as governments, invest in an

event to attain different goals. Too many athletes’ sports have become a way of life. There are

different categories of sports, and this essay classifies sports in three distinct categories. The

sports that are played with a ball, sports that are played with sticks and sports that are played

with rackets.

Ball sport

Ball sports involves all the games that feature a ball as part of the play. Such sports

include American football and handball. American football alluded to football in the United

States and Canada, and furthermore known as gridiron is a group activity played by two groups

of eleven players on a rectangular field with goal lines at each end (“SPORTS &#38 GAMES ::

BALL SPORTS images” n.d.). On the other hand, handball is a team sport that involves two

teams of seven players. A typical match covers of two times of 30 minutes, and the team that

scores more goals wins. The other category of sports is a sport played with sticks.

Sticks sports

Sports played with sticks denotes games where players use sticks to play the game. For

instance, Lacrosse is a group activity where players attempt to get this show on the road elastic

ball into a net or goal. Players utilize a long stick with a net on its finish called a lacrosse stick.

They can run, convey, catch, shoot, and pass the ball with the net of the stick (“Lacrosse: Learn

all about the sport of Lacrosse,” n.d.). The lacrosse crew with the most focuses or objectives

toward the finish of the timespan wins. An interestingly Irish game, Hurling is one of the world’s

most established field sports and has been played in some structure in Ireland for over 800 years.

It is regularly contrasted with hockey yet other than the way that the two games include a stick

and a ball; there is no closeness. The bent wooden stick with a level end is known as a fling or

hurley. The last category is sports, played with rackets.

Racket sports

Racket sports are very popular all over the world. Outside of the US, the word is often

written as a racquet. Racket sports games include the popular sports of ping pong, badminton

(“Pickle-ball vs Pickleball Paddle vs Racquet or Racket,” n.d). On the other hand, Table tennis,

otherwise called ping-pong, is a game where two or four participants hit a lightweight ball to and

fro over a table using little rackets. The game happens on a hard table separated by a net.

Conclusion

To numerous competitors’ games have become a lifestyle. There are various

classifications of sports, and this exposition order sports in three unmistakable classes. The

games that are played with a ball, sports that are played with sticks and sports that are played

with rackets.
