Course Title : FIELD STUDY 5 (Learning Assessment Strategies)
Credit Units : 1
Time Allotment : 17 hours
Pre – requisite : Assessment of Learning 1 and 2

learning
2. Have a deep and principled understanding of the learning processes and the role of the tecaher in facilittaing these
processes in their students
3. Have a deep and principled understanding of how educational processes relate to lergher historical, social,cultural and
political processes
4. Have a meaningful and comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter they will texcah
5. Can apply a wide range of teaching process skills (including curriculum development, lesson planning,materials
development, educational assessment and tecahing approaches

6. Can demonstrate and prcatice the professional and ethical requiremnets of the teaching profession

the content/subject matter and the broader social forces encumbering the school and the educational processes in order

innovative approaches and evaluate the effectiveness of such approaches in improving student learning

IV. Course Description :

The course provides the students with hands-on experience in selecting, constructing and evaluating conventional and
authentic assessment tools and launching them in different environment of the classroom based on the principles of teaching.

V. General Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, the students are expected to:


1. Select, construct and evaluate assessment tools used in the learning environment.
2. Reflect on the importance of the teacher’s knowledge and skills in the use of different tools.
3. Express one’s views on the use of the different forms of assessment.

Preliminary Grade

(Class Standing x 0.6) + (Prelim Exam Rating x 0.4)

Midterm Grade

(Class Standing x 0.6) + (Midterm Rating x 0.4)

End Term Class Standing x.6 + Endterm Grade x.4

Final Grade = (Prelim + Midterm + Endterm grade) /3

Class Standing includes any/all of the following:


Recitation, quizzes/test, homework, seatwork, experiments or laboratory exercises reports, attendance, etc.

VIII. Classroom Management Rules

1. Submission of requirements will be on or before due dates.


2. Wear prescribed uniforms on scheduled days. On free day (Wednesday) wear appropriate dress code.
3. No cellphones and other gadgets should be used during class hours and examination.
4. Honesty should be practiced at all times.
5. Complete attendance is encouraged. In case of absences, notification as to the reason should be reported before or
upon return.
6. The number of absences should be based on what is allowable. (Refer to Students Manual)
7. Tardiness is discouraged. More than 15 minutes of being late would mean being absent.
8. Should students be absent during quizzes, graded recitation and other activities, provisions can be made provided the
reasons are valid

IV. Course Description :

The course is designed to provide FS students with opportunities to connect teaching-learning theories and principles discussed
in the six-unit course in Principles of Teaching 1 and 2 with actual classroom practice. It is intended to help the FS student observe how
these principles of teaching and learning are applied by the resource Teacher to make the teaching-learning process interactive,
meaningful, exciting and enjoyable.

V. General Objectives: At the end of the course, the students are expected to:

1. Arrive at an experiential knowledge and understanding of the principle sof teaching and learning.
2. reflect on the application of the principles of teaching and learning for meaningful and lasting learning
3. determine how the guiding principles in lesson objective formulation are applied in the teaching-learning process
4. acquire the skill in developing cognitive, skill and value lessons meaningful and interestingly by an in depth treatment
of the subject matter and by integrating thinking skills
5. apply the guiding principles in the selection of teaching strategies
6. identify the teaching approach employed
7. trace the logical development of a lesson
