EXPO QUEEN

Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970.

In 1968 Brian May, Roger Taylor and Tim Staffell, students at the Imperial College, decided to
form a band called “Smile”.

Tim was studying at the Ealing College of Art where he met Frederick Bulsara (or Farrock Mommi
Balsara) inviting him to listen to the band. In 1970 ‘Smile’ was disbanded, Tim started a new
group called Humpy Bong and Freddie got together with Brian and Roger. Freddie changed the
name of the band to Queen, they needed a bass player and John Deacon came.
The band's formation was: Freddie as Vocalist, Bryan May as Guitarist, John Deacen on Bass
and Roger Taylor on Drums. In July of 1973 they composed their first album 'Queen. " 'Queen II'
appeared in March 1974.

'Sheer Heart Attack” was released and In January 1975, Queen made their first solo tour of the
USA, the tickets were sold out. In April they visited Japan for the first time, And were acclaimed
by their fans.

'A Night At The Opera' Was released in November 1975 and was a tremendous success, winning
Them their first Platinum disc. With the most popular single of Queen “Bohemian Rhapsody”

In November,'Jazz’ was their seventh album. With the singles “Don’t Stop Me Noew” “Bycicle
Race” and “Fat Bottomed Girls”.

In 1980, the band performed their new album 'The Game' (the first album where they used
synthesizers)

Critics have pointed to the charisma of Freddie Mercury as a fundamental part of his
presentations, this is recognized as Live Aid in 1985, playing hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody,
Radio Ga Ga, Hammer To Fall. Crazy Little Thing Called Love. We Will Rock You and We Are The
Champions.

On August 9, 1986, the British band Queen gave the last concert of their Magic Tour, what they
and their fans did not know is that it was also the recital with which the prodigious voice of the
group said goodbye forever

In 1991, the band performed their first single which lasted six and a half minutes. "Innuendo."
The album of the same name was made on February 4.

Freddie Mercury died of a bronchopneumonia complicated by AIDS on November 24, 1991, just
one day after officially communicating that he suffered from this last disease.

The tribute to Mercury was made on April 20, 1992, at Wembley Stadium, London, among the
invited artists were: David Bowie, Elton John, Guns N 'Roses, Metallica, Robert Plant, along with
the remaining members of Queen .
